If that were the case you should never even start the season. And if you worry about getting hurt, that is when it will happen. You can blow out an ACL just walking down the steps at home, would you have them removed if your son was a star athlete??

I have no idea what Kasey's reason(s) were for leaving the team. But IMO, I think too many times, coaches push kids to play more than one sport because they are good or stars in each sport. It isn't always the best idea for the athlete tho. I know that Aaron Petry played basketball after signing with Ohio State to play football. Ohio State didn't like that very much. It's just an opinion, but why risk the injury? It is the same concept as playing your starters when you're ahead by 40 or 50.

Hines Ward is doing okay w/o one!!!(ACL) I understand were you are coming from though! ;)

If you all only knew the situation and the circumstances of what Kasey goes through and has went through lately, everyone might have a different opinion of the topic. I do not like the fact that he's not playing as of now but a kid can only take so much. It is unfair to Kasey to question him without knowing the full story.

:thumb: Excellent points and a great post!! He is a 17 year old kid! Give him the benefit of the doubt!! :D

Kasey has the heart of a lion and would do anything needed done to pick up a W. He cares deeply for his teammates and if it weren't for them he probaly would have done this a long time ago. Everyone seems to think that he thinks he is quote " bigger than the program" That is just not true. He just wants to be treated the same as everyone else, not special just equal.

You are right! No one can walk in anyone else's shoes!! Good points, unfortunately, all involved most likely are unhappy with the current situation.

Looks to me like the Maroon Blazer just got an ally!!!!!

Its definitely an unfortunate thing for this to have happened and I'm sure the reasons for it are sound, and besides that, they are none of our business. I don't see how anyone could question Kaseys heart though. From what I've seen of him in games vs Boyd Co he has done nothing but go all out and thats all you can ask of a kid. Unfortunately people and circumstances get in the way of that and it is generally the kid who has to pay the price, sometimes unfairly. Anyway, like I said earlier, good luck in football and baseball kasey and try to take it easy on my Lions.

Anyone that has seen Clark play knows how much heart and determination he has. Unfortunately those same attributes appear sometimes to allow his emotions to get away from him.

I believe that is just part of being a kid and I'm sure he will learn from this experience as he matures into an adult

I agree and knowing the family real well since Kasey is the youngest of five siblings he has to wear his heart on his sleeve and be competive just to get to the dinner table!!!

The real question now is - what does Dodd do to fill the minutes and role that previously went to Clark? I know that early in the season, the Maddux kid had a couple of solid games, but he hasn't seemed to get much time lately. I think a couple of the kids that were being hyped prior to the start of the season haven't really played to their level. I watched the AIT, and I thought Turner played well, but I haven't seen Russell since, and I have no idea how he has been playing of late. Frances

Maddox played extremely well in the first game against Greenup Co, handling the press, blocking out and making hustle plays. He was playing well against Morgan Co when he landed on his elbow trying to make a save. He was fine the next day. Since then, he has only played a mop up role. Turner will be in Louisville for a choir shindig this weekend and will miss the Boyd Co game. He has played well lately on the JV squad.

Miss a game against BC for a choir thing? Is he a better singer than baketball player?
