It seemed like Russell had been playing better lately, but this could be the nail in the coffin that keeps their 30+ year regional championship drought streak alive.

The Devils still have good players left.

We will see the last couple weeks of the season how this affects the Devils.

Losing a player can be devastating or it can also pull a team closer together.

Honestly this is probably better for Kasey. His time would be better spent in the weight room rather than playing for a team that has really underachieved so far this season.

I'm sure these boys won't be too surprised after they saw it happen at their own school last year. Coach Dodd should also have a pretty good idea of how to handle it. Glad the coaches at Russell are showing their class the last couple of years.

I'm confused what class are you talking about? ! coach has moved to the radio and now a key player leaves the team! Is there problems at Russell?

I have absolutely no idea why Clark would have left the team. But, with all due respect, how could leaving a team coming down the stretch better an individual. I have always believed that you do whatever it takes to honor your committments, regardless of the circumstances. If he was dismissed from the team then that looks bad on him. If he quit the team, that looks equally bad. The only good reason would be for health concerns which is probably not the case here. It's very disappointing to me to see any athlete leave his fellow teammates for any reason.

Maybe Russell is taking over for Ashland, who took over from Boyd Co, as "Team Turmoil"

Is this the same kid that carried the football team to the state championship? Doesn't sound like him. Sounds like a case of a player thinking he's bigger than the program.

Kinglion what are you talking about? Ashland has not had any team turmoil the whole season long! ...Where are you getting that stuff from? You and Tiny love making up stuff..like the fight in the locker room after the Clark County game??? Where do you all get this stuff, or do you just make it up for something to talk about?

It sounds more like a kid giving up a sport that he doesn't enjoy anymore.

I guess I'll just take the fathead in the FB version now!

This is the trend of today's athlete. "I dont enjoy playing anymore" or "I dont like the coach" so I just quit on my teammates and my school. Finish the season and do your best despite your relationship with the coach. 99% of good players that quit regret it in the long run. I am not privy to the situation but I just hate to see a kid quit this late into the season.

Best of luck to the kids who truly want to play for Russell this season.

Haven't you been reading the posts about people wanting Flynn's head and kids either quitting or not even coming out to play?

Most likely from disgruntled parents whose kids have quit or are not good enough to play.
