Lincoln County 22 Lexington Christian Academy 21

Final.

Wow, big comeback, right? Lincoln was down 21-3 at the half. It's been a really tough week for Lincoln County's football program. I'm glad they were able to pull this one out.

LCA lead 21-3 at the half (I arrived @ halftime)

LCA did not look good in the 2nd half. Penalties & a LOT of plays for minus yardage wiped out most of the drives.

Lincoln Co. went up 22-21 with about 11 minutes left. With 27 seconds left, LCA got the ball on their 20, and in 2 plays went down to the Lincoln Co. 3, with 4 seconds left & no timeouts.

Lincoln Co. called a timeout, which gave LCA the time to set up for the FG attempt from the left hashmark. Unfortunately, the kick went wide, & Lincoln Co. pulled out the emotional win.

For those that haven't heard, Lincoln Co. lost one of their coaches this past week in a motorcycle accident. As bad as we feel about tonight's loss, it's NOTHING compared with theirs. May God be with everyone in the Lincoln Co. football family.

Even as an LCA fan, I can't disagree. My heart goes out to them.

How big of an upset is this?

Eh. LCA seems like a 10-15 team in 2A, while Lincoln is a middle of the pack 5A club. Probably an upset, but I wouldn't say huge.

I didn't realize (or look) that LC is a 5A team. They sure had some big boys. I have to think that they wore LCA down (that also happened in the CAL game).

Hey, I've seen you at your day job once or twice...

Yeah, they are 5A. They usually have decent size, but not a ton of quickness. I know their roster is bigger this year than it has been in several seasons. Depth may have paid off tonight.

LCA fumbled a couple of times in the 2nd half, including a player being stripped of the ball, and the next thing I see is the LC player in the endzone.
