So the Final score thread was closed?

Little one sided don't you think?

Sorry about that it was my mistake.

Wow! Beechwood took a beating!

The Tigers did take a beating in this one. Once Dixie lined up and "went Beechwood", the Tigers had no answer. They handed the ball to Seth Caple, he put two hands on it lowered his head and the Tigers couldn't stop him. Then they started mixing Washington in and a few runs here and there by Moore. Beechwood has a lot of work to do at the line of scrimmage on both sides of the ball. They couldn't run the ball and they couldn't stop the run.

Wow shocked by this score!

It actually felt worse than this score. Dixie scored 41 unanswered.

Well, close, but not actually 41 unanswered. Beechwood scored to make it 34-20 and then Dixie added their final score very quickly after the onsides kick failed and they got a short field.

Sounds like the team that get the Red Colonels next week.

I didn't know you were a Dixie fan, plantmanky. Your team looked strong tonight.

Here is your game report. It is a pretty easy summary. Dixie ran the ball right over top of the Tigers and Beechwood could not stop them. End of story.

But I know everyone wants a little more than that, so here you go.

Beechwood received the opening kickoff and just a few plays into the game defensive lineman Brendan Johnson intercepted a screen pass. However, Johnson then fumbled the ball while trying to score and Beechwood had it first down at their own 4. They then made it look easy moving 96 yards for the score with the TD coming on a 25 yard pass from Kyle Fieger to Jalen Hayden. The extra point was blocked, Tigers 6 Colonels 0 with 4:58 left in the first quarter. Dixie went 3 and out and Joe Studer returned the punt 44 yards to the Dixie 10. Two plays later, Fieger ran the ball in from 8 yards out, Miles Sletto added the extra point and just like that the Tigers led 13-0 with 2:39 left. Dixie started their drive on their own 35. They lined up in a power formation, handed the ball to Seth Caple on 3 or 4 runs in a row and in one minute they had their first score. Ethan Schulte added the extra point and it was 13-7 with 1:49 left. Beechwood went 3 and out to end the quarter.

In the second quarter, Dixie stuck to the power running game. The Tigers finally toughened as Dixie neared the goal line but Dixie caught the Tigers off guard on 3rd down with a screen pass and Darion Washington took Drew Moore's pass 17 yards for a TD. Schulte missed the extra point, game tied at 13 with 7:46 to go in the half. Beechwood fumbled on the first play but Dixie couldn't take advantage and went 3 and out. The Tigers put together a drive, with one big play being drawing Dixie offsides on 4th a 3 at their own 35. Beechwood had another short 4th down at the Dixie 40 but Dixie stopped them short. Dixie kept the power rushing game going and Caple capped the drive with a rumbling 8 yard TD run. For some reason, Dixie went for 2 and didn't get it. Dixie 19 Beechwood 13 with 1:17 to go. That is where it stood at halftime.

Dixie had the ball to start the second half and it was quickly shown that Beechwood had found no answers in the halftime locker room. A tell tale play came on a Dixie 3rd and 12 from their own 31, Moore ran the ball over left tackle and met no one from Beechwood till 12 yards later. The Colonels marched methodically down field picking up rushing yards by the chunk and then Moore hit Evan Hicks with an 11 yard TD pass and repeated that same play for the 2 point conversion. It was now 27-13 with 5:55 left in the quarter. Beechwood really needed to answer, but instead they went 3 and out. The Colonels continued to overpower the Tigers and on the second last play of the quarter, Moore scored on a 6 yard run. Schulte's extra point made it 34-13. The Tigers ran 3 plays in the quarter.

Beechwood started the 4th quarter showing some fight. They moved the ball downfield and when Ethan Stringer was ruled just short of a TD after catching a screen pass from about 20 yards out and the Tigers had it 1st and goal inside the one. The Tigers tried what Beechwood always does - power the ball to the end zone. The first play, Stringer was met in the backfield as soon as he was handed the ball for a 3 yard loss. That is the way it went all night for the Beechwood running game. The Tigers were unable to score and Dixie took over at their own one. For some reason, after running over top of Beechwood for two quarters, Dixie tried two pass plays and had to punt. Joe Studer returned the punt back to the 3 to get the Tigers another first and goal. This time, Fieger was able to hit Studer with a pass for the score. Sletto's XP made it 34-20 with 6:30 left. A ray of hope for the Tigers. But the onsides kick went out of bounds. The Colonels started their drive at the Beechwood 48 and their offensive coordinator came back to his senses. He went back to the running game and two plays later, Washington scored on a 41 yard run, 41-20 with 5:46 to go and the Tigers hopes were very bleak. They did hit on a couple passes and moved the ball, but Caple picked off a Fieger pass at the 25 and it was mop up time. The Dixie JV took the varsity queu and ran the ball over Beechwood's JV. The game ended with Dixie in victory formation at the Tigers' 3 yard line. It was the type of game Beechwood fans are very used to seeing, but not from this side of the scoreboard. It was power football 101.

Anyone know how many rushing yards Dixie had in this one?
