Senior leadership; that's funny! I think Poythress and WCS will be strong leaders this year.

Not Jerry Tipton @NotJerryTipton

The Harrison twins are the most hyped twosome college basketball has seen since Renardo Sidney's titties.

Sorry, but when I think of Poythress I don't think of leadership material. Let's hope he has vastly improved from last year and if he turns out to be a leader, excellent.

[/h][h=5]Great practice. The guys came back strong after a small weekend break. Alex is getting healthier and it was good to have him & Willie back. Having all 12 scholarship players available today made a difference. We also had 12 NBA scouts at practice which is more than normal.[/h]

Thomas Beisner @thomasbeisner

Calipari says the only player he's coached who has worked harder than Julius Randle is Brandon Knight.

Cal says he wants to play Julius Randle on the wing and let his game develop like Patrick Patterson.

Cal when asked if this is the most talented team he's ever had: "Hmm...that first team was really talented."

Media names Julius Randle the preseason Player of the Year in the SEC, in addition to being 1st team All SEC.

Andrew Harrison, Willie Cauley-Stein, & Dakari Johnson named to 2nd team.

This is surprising.

This is surprising.

^ I thought so too.

Me as well, not sure if it's because he's looking that good early on in practice or if it's because there just aren't any other elite big men in the SEC.

LSU could end up being #2 by the end of the year depending on the Wilbekin situation.

It surprised me because I've seen other outlets/services ranking WCS as one of the top big men in the country.

There is a lot to like about LSU's roster. They've got a McD's AA whose name is escaping me right now, to go along with Johnny O'Bryant--a guy I wished UK could have nabbed. They also have the little point guard from Kentucky, whose name is also escaping me.

The SEC seems to be awful this year. Florida has a chance to contend with Kentucky if they can get all of their guys eligible.
