Luke Bir Injury - Covington Catholic RB

Featured Replies

This morning Luke said it was his 3rd broken clavicle. Hopes to be back by the last week or two of regular season.

That's unreal, some bodies are designed for things some aren't, wish him the best... great kid.

The Clavical is the easiest bone in the body to break, it takes 8 pound of pressure to break it.

You forgot to add in parentheses "in my Cliff Claven voice".

All seriousness, hate to hear this for Luke, seems like a great young man.

Cliff and I are a plethora of useless information.

For the record, the Scapula is the hardest bone in the body to break.

I think the wrong person in this forum is called sidelinedoc

Pins and screws and a lovely plate that usually makes it stronger than the opposite clavicle. Makes me wonder if he has had 3 if he ever had a plate placed prior to this one. I hate to hear the news for him.

Just to set the record straight.

I spoke with the Bir family today and Luke has not broken his clavicle three times.

What was posted earlier was incorrect.

Also, Luke's father Tony is feeling good today as well.

He says he is listed 'day to day'....... Aren't we all?

Interesting. I would've thought the fibula was the easiest to break.

The fibula is normally protected by the fact that is runs along the Tibia, so to break one, you normally have to break both. Although an isolated fibula fracture is possible. But, the Clavical is still the easiest.
