Hazards defense will be the key to this game. And hazards varsity scoring 2 times on belfry is pretty good and considering belfry only scored four times is a win. Some said 5 but the Jv score once.

Pikeville looked impressive from little I seen and from what I was told last week against P'Burg. I still think the Dawgs will win but it should be one of the better games in EKY this weekend.

I am hoping to see Pikeville post the win in this one, and I hope it is a great game.

Pikeville will be favored to win this game. Last win was in the 06 regular season.

After studying on this game I think this game will be won by hazard.

I have become a Hazard fan over the years. Belfry enjoys a great relationship with their team and staff, by way of a continued scrimmage every preseason. I like Coach Dixon and he has built a great program at Hazard and seemingly has done it the right way. They have good athletes and they play hard, with class.

 

That said, I will be pulling for the Bulldogs this week, hard. I think Pikeville may be the better team, however, and excitement will be aplenty being the Pike County Bowl and the high expectations for this Panther team.

 

For now, I am going to predict a Pikeville win in the 28-21 range, but wouldn't be surprised to see it go just the other way.

It is early, but this game will give us a good indicator of who will come out of the east in 1A. Pikeville and Hazard are among the favorites, along with Raceland, Williamsburg and Fairview. If either Hazard or Pikeville dominates the game we might be able to place them at the top of the heap in the east.

Is the Morgan kid from Ryle the starting quarterback for Hazard? I believe he is a Freshman. How did he look in the scrimmage last week?

 

I think it is a big advantage for Pikeville that they have a game under their belt and this is the first game for Hazard.

All is quiet in this thread. Nothing like seeing two top 10 teams in its class go at it early in the season and especially when there rivals.
