Dixie Heights vs Cooper (8-16) Scrimmage

Featured Replies

In live action Dixie wins easy 28-0. Cooper had a lot of turnovers, around 3 int. and a fumble. Also Cooper looked very small O-line and D-line. Dixie could run the ball at will. Dixie's defence looked good. Morre looked good. Good arm very fast. Dixie had 3 rushing TD's and Moore's pass to 6'5 Hedger, who jumped over 2 Cooper defenders for the only passing TD.

I think the Jags colors are maroon and copper.

Cooper. lol. auto correct!!

Just having some fun. Auto correct is not always a poster's best friend. Lol! Sounds like Dixie did a great job tonight.

I am not surprised. Dixie is a team to watch. Cooper has some work to replace the studs they lost.

Dixie looked like they were playing a jv team tonight. Dixie could be good or Cooper just down this year.

Or a little of both.

Coopers litmus test will be against Ryle next week. Ryle I hear had a close game tonight so could be tough next week

im sure with what Cooper lost it will take time for kids to get into there rolls on the team.

Everything starts up front, and on defense they will have some very tough practices I think this week. I'm hoping that the return of their NT will help. He was sick so didn't play tonight. One of the strongest players on the team.

How did Will Ludwig play tonight?

When they were running 10 plays each he had some nice throws and a couple nice runs. When they started the quarters there was an issue with the Center QB exchange and then he threw an interception. He did not play much during the quarter part because he tweaked his wrist. He could have went back in but for precautions they kept him out. When he had time he was able to pick the defense apart. He is no Tyler Morris running the ball but he will surprise teams this year scrambling and gaining positive yardage. He completed passes to at least 4 different receivers only targeting two of the deep threats once.

I think Will is going to be fine. If there is one thing I fault Borchers for, it is not getting these younger guys some touches when games were well in hand last season. Will was playing TE and not even taking JV snaps last year. Different style QB, the coaches are gonna have to tweak some things on their end since he appears to be their man. I don't think this scrimmage is indicative of what Cooper will be doing this season. At least, I really really hope not!!

If Dixie can avoid the injury bug they may post a winning season. They are very athletic and enthusiastic. Coach Brossart is creating a new spirit of success based on no all-star fever, solid fundamentals, teamwork, and discipline. Look for the Red Colonels to open a few eyes this season!
