Like I said before, these guys are calling the NCAA's bluff. They aren't going to do anything to any of them.

I can't see the NCAA doing much of anything either.

When it can be proven that any of these guys were paid to sign autographs, we'll talk about any violations. The only one that is really in question at this point is Manziel, with the apparent video and audio of him talking suspiciously with people in the hotel rooms.

Even that's going to be difficult to prove considering the guy has said there's no way he's talking with or cooperating with the NCAA.

That's because he's protecting his business. I think given the information we already have, most will assume Manziel was paid. Whether or not we ever know if that's really the case is yet to be seen. But like you pointed out, with no cooperation from the parties who are selling the merchandise, it will be hard to prove anything.

The more names to come out the more Johnny Football is safe. No way they can suspend one without suspending them all.

UofL has released a statement "We have spoken with Teddy Bridgewater and we are comfortable that no violation has occurred." From Kent Taylor's twitter account .

I believe Clowney has already been cleared. Yes he signed but no money is what I believe I heard on the radio or tv.

Yep. And without creating a rule to along the lines of "this dollar amount equals this much time suspended," everyone would have to be suspended the same amount of time.

From UofL:

“We are aware of many of the items for sale online that have been autographed by several of our student-athletes with remaining eligibility. As we are required to do by NCAA rules, we regularly review these items and send correspondence to the seller(s) requesting they remove the item for sale.

We have and continue to educate our student-athletes that it is not permissible to accept any type of compensation for their autograph or the sale of memorabilia. We have spoken with Teddy Bridgewater and we are comfortable that no violation has occurred.”

I find it laughable that universities (and not just UofL, because they all do it) have the nerve to contact individuals and tell them to remove the items.

Spoke too soon. Clowney is cleared and UL has released a statement defending Teddy B. Has A&M and Johnny Football done anything like this other than hire the Cam Newton/Auburn lawyer? Whoops....

All of this makes me wonder if there is some kind of unwritten code amongst all the schools which allow these guys to profit off their autographs. I wonder if they all do it for some kind of delayed kickback they get once they are out of school? They are all doing it for money unless it is some kind of hack that collects or buys autographs off people then resales them.

I agree. Doesn't pass the smell test. They signed how many autographs? For free?

Yeah, there wasn't much traffic when I flew like Superman to work today.
