Seems to be a good amount of talent in this class. Kentucky seems to be coming around in the talent pool.

I dont expect him to make the regional first team, but what I expect is from Cole is someone who makes life easier on the older guys. His court vision and awareness are phenomenal for someone his age. I expect he will score between 4-6 points a game on varsity, while helping find ways to get the ball to Ruthstaz, Bo, and other kids who are in good position to score. The kid has talent, but not to be overlooked is his determination to win. He will do what is asked to put his team in position to win.

 

Another kid people are over looking in the ninth region freshman class is Moe Thiel, he is a 3/4 right now and he may continue to grow. However, I dont expect him to be more than a role player while at CCH, because Ive been told he will play summer baseball and focus on that. I still expect him to contribute in about two years. CCH also has a 6'4 kid coming in from St. Agnes, Ive heard he maybe raw, but is an excellent athlete. People are still expecting this kid to grow.

I didn't know Moeves and Hemmerich played for that Tar Heels team. Nonetheless, good players.

From NKY, I'd add Cheeseman at Ryle and Freppon from NCC to the list of top players. Also, I remember a Bertsch? from Camp.co a few years ago and thought he would be a real nice player.

 

Cheeseman is also a very nice player. Quick, handles the ball well, can attack the rim, and solid passer. I like his game. From the Ryle way, I also like J. Webster. Heard he may have left the Ryle district, any truth to that?

James Bolden, Drew McDonald, and Brandon Hatton were all pretty good as freshmen..as was Markel McClendon who started for Holy Cross. Jaylen Avery (on the court) comes to mind to as another freshman who contributed at the varsity level as a frosh (started for Holy Cross). The list goes on with Ben Weyer and Jake Schulte too. Arrez Henderson saw time as a frosh for a loaded Holmes team getting minutes in the region tournament and having a dunk against Highlands when both were top 3 in the region.

 

Talking with a couple Beechwood assistants that I work with, who coach the middle school teams, I've heard football is his better sport.

Have heard very good things about Luke Moeves, McNeil, and Hendrix. Hope to see the other guys you mentioned this season too.

 

Luke may end up being the best of the Moeves. Probably the most versatile. And, coming up behind very good, young talent and good coaching at NCC. I look for him to make a big impact in the coming years and this year as a freshman. I have heard McNeil may get spotted varsity minutes. That kid can flat play and is strong! Don't know as much about Hendrix, but from what Ive seen and heard Cooper has a real nice pg on the way.

Markel averaged double figures as a frosh against probably ONE OF the toughest schedules in NKY last year at HC.

 

CVH probably has a better shot but quickness, athletic ability, and defense I'd give to Markel. You are underestimating his defense big time. Markel doesn't get as much recognition because nobody sees him during the summer because he plays AAU with Ohio teams. AOR and OBC are high level programs, which I'm sure you know. Keep in mind though that my observation/opinion is from seeing CVH one time. I will be able to give a more detailed opinon in a couple months. Luckily for us, we will also get to see those two against one another atleast twice this coming season.

Same here. And, like you, I haven't seen much of Macklendon. But, have seen a lot of Cole. Macklendon also has a year on Cole. As solid as Markel is, to be discussing Cole with him, is pretty good company.

Cole averaged 13 ppg but only scored a total of 7 against DIxie (3) and Newcath (4), the two best teams on VIlla's schedule last year...doesn't mean he didn't average double figures, though...right, TOG?
