Sounds like my best bet is definitely the New Richmond exit.

Here's the thing though. You have to go past the Kellogg Ave. exit to get to the NR exit. Easy solution is take your route and if it looks like things are getting bogged down toward Kellogg then get in the left lane and head to the NR exit I suppose. My guess is Kellogg will be okay for you, and you have to drive past it anyway, so at least check the exit ramp

My thoughts exactly. I've never been a big proponent of the New Richmond exit. Sometimes I'll take River Road, which can get backed up because it's only one (maybe two?) lanes. There is obviously some traffic at Kellogg, but I chalk it up as the concert experience.

I should be in the area about two hours before the concert starts, so I should have time to eye ball it and see which route looks better.

When I attended the Bob Dylan concert, I got in and out with ease. Parked at Coney and we got right out after the show.

 

No idea on attendance for that one... Definitely not sold out, but pretty crowded also.

Had a great experience last night. I forgot which exit we stopped at in NKY to eat, but I think it was two exits before the bridge. We had Penn Station. Crossed over into Ohio, and there was no traffic at all at the Kellog Ave. exit, so I took that one. We actually parked back in the Coney Island area. I thought this might have turned out to be a bad idea, but it worked out perfect. The concert was over about 10:45, and we were back on 275 by 11:00. Very easy exit. We did make our way to the back of the lawn before the last song, so we were in the first wave of people out the gates when it was over.

 

About the lawn, I was pleasantly surprised that it was artificial grass. Genius idea for that, IMO.

 

Really liked the venue... We stood probably about 15 feet or so back from the rail in the lawn, right in the middle, and that was a perfect viewing spot. The only crappy part was when the bigger named artists came on stage, there was a bum rush to get closer, but I expected that. I've done lawn tickets twice now at amphitheater venues, and I'm not sure I'll do it again. My patience isn't quite what it used to be for that kinda thing. :lol2: I didn't realize it was right on the river like that... It was cool seeing the river and boats traveling right behind the stage. Once the sun went down, you got a nice cool breeze every once in a while, it was nice.

The only thing you could really smell last night was of the herbal variety. :lol2:

 

But no, I didn't notice any foul smell while I was there.

BTW - I am strictly a pavilion kind of gal now. I'm way too old to be out on that lawn...especially when I go out there and see friends of my kids and they are all trying to duck for cover with those illegal beers in their hands.

Where is this Lebo's that you talk about? Do they allow people to park there for a concert?

 

Lebo's is on Kellogg avenue just a little down the road (West) from River City Softball complex that is at the exit for Riverbend.

I've seen several fights break out in a muddy lawn. I've also seen people run & dive down the muddy hill as if it was a slip & side.

 

The turf is very nice for many different reasons.
