Why wouldn't Alec Risner and Austin Manis be top players to watch?!!!?

Why don't you write an article on those two. That would let everyone hear all their accomplishments and abilities.

First of all, welcome to BGP RT, I am glad to have another Ram fan on here. :thumb:

 

RT, I cannot and am not trying to speak for Ram at all but I think you are misjudging with some of your comments. I am not meaning any malice toward your post and I took Ram's post not as a "shot" so to speak but he wants everyone to post on here. I know that I welcome and would like to hear any info that you want to post on any of the Ram players. I know that I the other preview the entire line was mentioned by Ram, listing their size and experience. You may not have seen that one. Anyway, I honestly don't think that anyone is meaning to slight any kid. I have been on bgp a long time (possibly longer than any Ram fans that we have on bgp, not sure) and I can say that I have never saw a post from any Ram fan intentionally trying to leave any kid out, jmo.

You are certainly right, we preach and expect the team to play as one and I think that the more that you read and are on here that you will see that the fans are together as well. :thumb:

I have been very impressed with the freshman class and a few of the sophomores. The upperclassmen better keep working hard if you know what I mean. ?

I think both are very good football players as well. No one can block Risner and Manis is a very smooth lineman. I couldn't imagine a OL/DL without them. Now, that makes our line as a whole something to watch.

This entire line I very, very good and are going to go a long way in determing how far the Rams go this season.

Raceland should be good, maybe best Raceland team ever but they have got to stay together and prove it. No One is going to lay down and hand them a win bc they are "Raceland".

 

Rams......stay together and do not let anyone or anything keep you from losing focus on your goals. Listen to your coaches, not to newspaper clippings, guys like me (lol) or anyone else. Fans - be fans and let the coaches coach, the players play and support the kids no matter what. This thing is not about the fans, the parents - it's about the kids and team, let it be about them and not anyone or anything else.

O.K., I am off my soap box now, lol.

Before we list this team with the better teams in school history, remember, this team hasn't played a down. Yes, they have potential but just since I have been around, 2006 and 2008 were two very daggone good teams. Once the season is over, then we can discuss where it fits into the football history at Raceland. Just my opinion.

Absolutely doc, plenty of past Raceland teams (and I am 56 years old and have seen Ram teams since the 60's) have accomplished as much as this team right now, a very good team that hasn't won a Region Title !

As an old coach (state championship player and coach at a local school) once told me........"potential is just that, no one ever won one game on potential and "POTENTIAL" will get you beat" !

Doc, I like that and it really says it all. The only thing that this team can control is themselves and how the RAMS play ! Should this team concentrate on that / getting better everyday then all will take care of itself and Raceland Rams Football will have a very successful / special season !
