I can understand everyone's angst when it comes to this draft. My comment yesterday about waiting was made in jest. I had planned on making my picks last night. However, when I got home from work yesterday, my sons and daughter all three had mowed the back yard and set it up for a wiffle ball home run contest and wanted me to pitch. Being a single dad and not having seen them in two weeks, of course I obliged and threw enough taters to make the Irish proud. We had to call it due to darkness. After feeding them and me, it was straight to bed.

 

Yes, this cost me the two picks I had on my big board -- Manning and Forte. But, after seeing the face of my daughter (and her brothers) when she crushed one onto the neighbor's deck, I'll gladly give up Manning and Forte to experience that again. My kids all are uber competitive when it comes to sports. But last night was about fun. And taters. And laughing. It was something all four of us needed.

 

My plan was to make my picks last night. I don't have a single regret about not making them even if it throws the timing of the draft off. As a league veteran, I know that we have never had to postpone week one of the season because the draft wasn't finished. And I don't think this year will be any different.
