November 20, 201312 yr Karl suffered a brain aneurysm in 2001 and didn't resume touring until 2006. The SGH show was August 24, 2006. If by chance you come to remember where you saw him, and it was indeed the SGH, I so hope that you didn't miss the Elvis show beforehand. If you did catch it, and it didn't resonate at the time, it might've been because when he played there it was in the super early goings of his initial touring, and very few folks at the time knew his back story to prompt them to take closer notice.... but then again... I'm guessing that if you ever saw an artist, knowing the back story or not, with the name "Elvis" then you would remember. I've missed warm ups before that I'm still seriously kicking myself about... One that always comes to mind is back in 1999 where Joe Henry opened for Wilco on his "Fuse" release that I love, but knew nothing about him before the show, and let friends steer me wrongly with their extended pre-show party. As I've thought about it, I think I saw World Party in Louisville. The Wilco show you mention with Joe Henry, however, I was at. Bogart's?
