July 4, 201313 yr Wow, sounds like the Rockets have come up with a way to add Howard and Josh Smith without giving up Parsons or Harden.....Of course, that's assuming the Hawks (or a 3rd team) would agree to a deal. Huge move by Houston. To think it all started when they traded Kevin Martin for a James Harden. Now Martin is in Minnesota and Houston is in a prime spot to add Howard and Smith to the team and keep Harden and Parsons as well. Well played, Houston. The thing Houston done well was gain some talented young assets with some value. At first it didn't look like they knew what they were doing when they amassed 10 power forwards on their roster, but somehow they ended up fielding a quality young team with promising assets. They could likely give up prospects like Terrence Jones, D-Mo (Dontas Motiejunas), Omar Asik, and perhaps even guys like Jeremy Lin or Royce White if other teams were willing to take a chance on them. They also have guard Patrick Beverly who really came on late, and forward/center Greg Smith who was also productive. So theres a lot of good young moving parts that someone like ATL may be more than happy to receive in a S/T scenario for Smith, especially in a rebuild. However, IMO, I think Houston would be better off (if they can get Howard) by keeping most if not all of these guys. I would like to see them move Asik or Len for some more role pieces, but as young and promising as some of these prospects are I would keep them to grow alongside Howard and Harden. Probably won't happen because Howards so dumb he would rather force Smith onto the team, but guys like Jones and D Mo can play that stretch 4 and hit jumpers from the perimeter while Josh Smith would do nothing in terms of spacing the floor. Smith is a nice athlete, I just don't think he's worth the hype on a good team. I'd rather keep the young guys on the cheap, but thats just me. Either way the Rockets will have options and will be good no matter what if they can land D12.
July 5, 201313 yr Sign that the Warriors are out? Warriors are sending Biedrins and Jefferson to Utah.... Andre Igoudala has agreed to a 4 year $48M contract with the Warriors as well. Don't see anyway they could've grabbed Howard and signed Igoudala.
