June 19, 201313 yr The Spurs exhausted everything last night in trying to win that game so I have a hard time seeing them win on Thursday. And I do not blame them for going for it, I just wish they would have put the foot on the pedal even more instead of resting at the start of the 4th.

June 19, 201313 yr I put that loss on Popovich. He has Duncan on the bench on two big plays at the end of regulation. The second to last play with turnover machine Ginobli bringing the ball up court he doesn't call a timeout, leaving Parker to sit there and watch. The last play, needing a 3, he has a horrible set of personnel on the floor. Just one bad coaching move after another. Missed free throws by Ginobli and Leonard in regulation that would have likely sealed a win. The big play in regulation that people will not talk about was San Antonio has the ball out of bounds with 20 seconds left and end up spending their last time out instead of getting the ball in bounds. If they get the ball in there, they likely burn another 10 seconds off the clock. Then with 5 seconds to go in a tie game they had no timeouts left to set up a half court play. Instead they have to bring it the length of the court and don't get a good look. If they do get the inbounds there it would have been to Diaw, and only a couple seconds would have ran off. They basically opted to not take their chances with Diaw at the line and called the timeout to get the ball in somebody elses hands. I guess with Leonards miss it didn't matter and they would have been better off with the timeout.
June 19, 201313 yr Fourth quarter run by Miami was something else to see. Spo made a mistake bringing Wade back in IMO & the Heat struggled to score from that point on. I thought that move almost lost them the game. Offense was flowing better than it had in almost three games and it goes right back to stagnant as soon as Wade comes in. I realize he's your second best player, but at the time Lebron was playing lights out with all the shooters around him. I thought they were going to lose last night, and I thought that was going to be the move that lost it for them. Going forward Spo needs to play a longer rotation of Lebron on the court without Wade. In fact I wouldn't mind to see them both play long stretches without each other on the floor, although Lebron won't be out of the game that much.
June 19, 201313 yr Wade is slowing down Lebron when they are on the court together because Lebron feels obligated to look for Wade and submit to Wade when he otherwise would just be playing the game and doing what he does. He's a totally different player with Wade on the court. Wade's ineffectiveness and inability to be the DWade he is expected to be is killing the Heat. Their chemistry is top notch when Wade is 100%. Now..notsomuch.
June 19, 201313 yr Just remember, the Heat have now won their last 13 games following a loss. They've lost their last six following a win. That is a scary trend, and its very possible it continues. BUT, since it's game 7 I think we can throw all of that out the window. Anything can happen in a game 7.

Splitter made two of the first couple of Spurs buckets in OT, or so I thought. I may be remembering that wrong, there was a lot to keep up with last night.
