I can't believe that I am making a prediction in the 14th region because all of the basketball people know this year has been like no other in the 14th. ANYONE can win it. I like Leslie County due to their aggressive style of play. The football players will all be "loosened up" enough to shoot properly, and they play hard. I would also like to see one of the smaller schools such as Lee County head to the State. Whoever gets the nod in the 14th really won't matter when they get to Rupp. The other regions are just way too tough for them to be able to hang.

If Lee County can keep up the head of steam they have right now, they will win it. But a lot of teams will bow their neck at tournament time, especially the traditional powers . But Lee has the one constant winning teams have to have at tournament time: defense. Even when the shots aren't falling, good defensive teams can find a way to win. I realize that Perry Central and Letcher Central have beaten the Bobcats this season by 4 points and 7 points respectively, but the Bobcats have finally turned the corner and seem to know 'how to win'. This is just my perspective.

Another 56th district team, the new kid on the block, Estill County, will also be dangerous at tournament time. I don't know whether the Engineers can win it, but I think they could very well make it to the championship game.

I'm saying Leslie after their strong tournament show last year. Leslie didnt play great the first game of region last year barely beating Letcher 1st round but came back strong as ever knocking off Owsley that already played 2 down to the wire games ealier in the season(splitting victories) and then almost upsetting Perry in the finals. They have the same team back and with them comes experience. Lee has the confidence with them after winning the all a and the most potential in the region. This team will be there in the end this year and next , since they dont loose much to graduation. Perry is as always very well coached and you can never count them out with Hollan and perry pulling tricks out their back pocket. Nobody seems to know if Estill has what it takes but after watching them play seems to me that their not too far from knocking off anyone in this region.

I gotta go with Lee County at this point. It might be a different story come tournament time, but they are playing the best ball of anyone in the region. Leslie will be in the mix, and Perry Central as well.

DARKHORSE: Estill- good shooters, mixing things up in their first year in the 14th

It is hard to go against a winning tradition and the #1 team in the 14th. I look for Perry Central to 3-Peat!!!

I will say PCC wins the tourny with ease.

They have to make it out of district first.

I'm not too smart, but there will definitely not be any "with ease" games in the region this year. Perry is just one of the teams that has a chance, but their loss to JBS, and narrow wins over Lee and Hazard, is proof that your statement has no merit.

Im agreeing with The Professor. Teams in the 14th are to close to be syaing things like this. Good Job professor on your research.

Games I've watched there hasnt been a blow out yet. Perry doesnt have the team that walks into the gym and walks out dry. Now its time to work and sweat for any team. Hazard doesnt have an All A state champ team, i didnt see any twins on breathitt's team, Leslie hasnt lived up to their preseason predictions, Lee isnt down anymore people(their back), Owsley has athletes and are playing close to everyone, Estill hasnt been proven yet and maybe able to get away from the watch Mason win it all mode, Hazard seems always be able to pull something out if only they can get around perry first game of distric and June B shows their dangerous by beating Perry at perry. After the other night Buckhorn is no team that anyone in that district wants to draw first game. I'm prolly leaving out a team or 2 but there are so many in this region that at the LEAST have a shot at Rupp, all anyone can ask for is a SHOT.

Agreed Estill is gaining confidence with every game, and seems content with flying under the radar.

It is awful unpredictable but I think the region is PCC's to lose. Not because they are the best team but they are expected to win year end and year out. They are a solid team, well coached, know how to win and have one the big one. Most of the kids on that team have been around regional winners and know what it takes. However, Leslie,Lee and Estill have legit shots and my longshots are Wolfe and KCC.

I will say PCC wins the tourny with ease.

From the Poll you was a Riverside fan.
