Last night just made another reason for him to go to the Cavs potentially, Nerlens Noel.

 

 

Like some have already said, Miami is good right now but in a couple of years they are going to be trending down pretty quick. They only have a couple more good seasons in them before they will have to blow everything up. They are ridiculously over the cap and into the luxury tax that they won't be able to replace guys like Battier, Miller, Haslem, Allen, etc. when they move on (and those guys will be done sooner as opposed to later). So basically IMO he only has two or three more seasons in Miami at the most to be a dominant team. Wade is fading, Bosh I'm not sure of, the rest of the supporting cast will be old or gone.

 

 

Then you look at a team like Cleveland who already has a perfect PG for a guy like Lebron in Irving (who has now shown the ability to be a threat from deep). Then they have young pieces such as Waiters, Thompson, Zeller, and now potentially Nerlens.

 

 

In 3-4 years you cannot tell me this isn't one of the best lineups in the league.....

Plus he gets to come back, be the hero, mend the fences, everybody's happy. Lebrons a guy who likes to be loved. In fact that's one of the reasons Miami didn't have championship success that first season, he tried to play the villan and embrace the hate and it just didn't work for him. He likes to make everyone happy and you cannot tell me that all the Lebron haters in Ohio wouldn't be right back on the Lebron train if he came back. All the negative criticism and comments you can just throw out the window, it wouldn't matter if he came back because they would put that stuff in the past and embrace him once more.

 

Not to mention, if he wins this year and next year in Miami that's 3 rings. He goes to Cleveland and even wins 1 or 2, then I think you put him in the conversation for GOAT. Until he gets at least 4-5 rings he will always be behind MJ, Kobe, and Magic in a lot of peoples eyes. He gets a few in Miami and one or two more in Cleveland then go ahead and fire up the MJ/Lebron legacy debate.

Just don't see it happening but who knows!

I agree with PP, I think this is a storybook ending for his career that he so much want's. I think the rebuttal from the Cav fans killed him and he would like nothing more than to make up with his home area.

This is where you're wrong. He doesn't associate Cleveland with "home" he never has. He even said so while with the Cavs that Akron was his home not Cleveland.

True. I do think that he does care what they think about them and I can still see him coming back to make amends at some point.

I think the Cavs firing Mike Brown the first time was more about trying to do anything to keep Lebron around as opposed to Lebron calling for his head. Could be wrong though. Either way, if Lebron wanted to come back I'm sure he could pick his coach.

I don't think it was as much as Lebron not liking Brown but it was Brown not being the right coach for Lebron

There are two trains of thought.

 

He could either want to come back home and lead Cleveland to a ship. Or it's just plain smart. When he opts out next year there will be a lot of organizations better setup to win championships in the future than Miami. If DWade is like he is know what is he going to look like in even two years?

 

LeBron's last decision was a business decision and his next one will be as well.

LeBron was always quick to correct anyone and basically would get defensive when anyone would claim he was from Cleveland. The way I understand the dynamic between the two communities, those from Akron do not like Clevelanders. I still thought the wearing of the Yankees cap to the Indians playoff game was huge slap in the face and about all you need to know about his care for Cleveland. I have always thought of James as being savvy, but not that smart of a guy if that makes sense.

It's not far, but it is far. And Clevelanders, because they were the bigger-city kids when we were growing up, looked down on us.... So we didn't actually like Cleveland. We hated Cleveland growing up. There's a lot of people in Cleveland we still hate to this day. -- LBJ in 2010 to GQ magazine.

But I do agree LeBron wants to be liked, often times to a fault, so from that angle I get it.
