I didn't say that you said it. For most analysts OBP has replaced batting average as the more relevant statistic. You said that Bruce does almost everything better than Dunn. How about the baserunning numbers that I posted. Care to comment on that? Dunn has dropped off a ton from the first several seasons of his career. Regardless of that, his numbers are very comparable to the same time period of Bruce's career and in most cases better.

I don't put much stock in the CS #'s. The Reds hit and run a lot more now than they did when Dunn was around. Almost positive both of Bruce's CS this season are missed H & R's.

You'd rather have Dunn, cool. Most would without question take Bruce.

Especially on this team. No way you can have Dunn in LF or RF with Choo in CF.

Might as well stick Dunn in LF, Choo in CF and Dante Bichette in RF. PUt a tent over it and sell tickets to watch them shag fly balls.

So, you'd rather have Stubbs back? No thanks!

May need Spindoc to close tonight.

ST. LOUIS — If the Reds have a save opportunity tonight, it’s unclear who will get it. It probably won’t Aroldis Chapman or Jonathan Broxton.

“We’re dealing with a rash of allergies,” Reds manager Dusty Baker said. “We’ve got allergy problems going through our team. We’ve got 10 or 12 guys with bad allergies, including Chapman. He looked like hell when he came in.

“I don’t think he’s available tonight. I don’t know if Broxton’s available tonight. We might have to close with somebody else.”

Both Chapman and Broxton have pitched two straight days. Broxton threw 30 pitches in his outing Sunday.

“We were a little apprehensive about using him last night,” Baker said. “It’s not the innings sometimes. It’s the workload of that inning.”

Baker was rooting for complete game from Bronson Arroyo.

“That would be great,” he said.

If that’s not the case, the Reds could use left-hander Sean Marshall if the matchup is right. Sam LeCure or J.J. Hoover would likely be the right-handed choices.

In 2013 yes I'd take Bruce. I'd take the overall production of 2004-07 Dunn over Bruce today. Dunn was good at producing runs (both by scoring them and by knocking them in). He got on base a lot which is obviously key to scoring.

Bruce has the capability IMO to get there. He just needs to get there.

Yeah. I said that. What planet do you reside on?

Good sign. Dunner goes the other way first AB

.... And Meso can't even manage to lift a fly ball.

Nice job jinxing Meso for the night. 6-4-3 with runners at 1st and 3rd in the 2nd inning.
