No one wins meaningless games as well as Peyton Manning. Put him on a stage where the games have real meaning and he's average at best. That is the one and only reason necessary as to why people should say Brady is better.

 

Manning in his career is 9-11 in the postseason....He's been a "one & done" postseason QB 8 times. 8 TIMES!

 

Tom Brady has won more postseason games than any QB in NFL history.

The purpose of football is to win a ring, is it not? You can harp on meaningless garbage all you want, but at the end of the day Tom Brady has 3 rings that "say he's good on Sunday" (Source: Michael Irvin). He also owns the record for most TD passes in a single season, 2 Super Bowl MVPs, 2 Regular season MVPs, has thrown for the 2nd most yards in a single season in NFL history, and throws very few interceptions. Also has the 3rd highest QB rating (during the regular season) in NFL history, above your beloved Peyton Manning who also throws more INTs a season (14.9 to 11.2).

You can make a legit argument that Manning is better than Brady, you'd be wrong, but at least you can make the argument. However, to say the above shows 1 of 2 things to be true. Either 1) you don't actually follow the NFL, or 2) you just like stirring the pot and don't really believe what you're saying.

Peyton Manning is the type of player that would have made any team in the NFL a playoff team in his prime, which from the stats I think he's still in his prime. I don't think that would be the case for Brady, he is a product of the system. The year Brady got hurt Matt Cassel came in and looked amazing, even earned himself a nice starting spot in KC.... and has looked nothing but awful the entire time since. The same thing would have happend to Brady if they had decided to start Drew Bledsoe after he came back from his injury, Tom Brady would have went to Buffalo or somewhere, played a few seasons and we would have never heard from him again.

 

Your argument has one flaw in it. The year the Patiots won the super bowl guessed who they lost to start the season that year when Bledsoe was the starter? The pathetic Bengals beat them, so obviously that system was not doing to great until Brady started running it.

I've listed plenty of reasons why he's not in the same league with Manning. The only reason people consider Brady as a legend is because of the superbowls, if he would have played 15 years and never won one, nobody would care. If Manning played 15 and never won one, he would still be conseidered one of the best.

Ofcourse Tom Brady is good, but if I were to pick a top 5, which I'm sure no one would care about, it would include Joe Montanna, Peyton Manning, Dan Marino, John Unitas, and John Elway.
