The Minneapolis session memorial day weekend will be crucial for the Travelers. At 7-6, they are one of the top 24 teams in the EYBL right now.

 

They will play 5 games that weekend.

 

3-2 or better should be enough to get them in. 2-3 or worse, their chances drop big time. There are 10 teams with the same record as them. Not sure if that hurts or helps.

Class of 2016 point guard Braxton Beverly had 14 points for the Travelers. Justin Johnson — his Perry Central teammate — chipped in with 10 points and a team-high six rebounds. Trinity’s Ray Spalding had six points, five rebounds and four blocks off the bench. Other scorers included Beetle Bolden and Jackson Davis with seven points apiece, Jeff Thomas and Rob Marberry with four points each, and David Kapinga with three points.

 

One of the Travelers’ leading scorers — Ohio native Zach McCormick — missed the game with an injured wrist.

 

Sounds like a total team effort. Solid contributions from everyone.

For someone with more knowledge of the AAU rules than me:

 

Since Beverly is playing up, how does his situation factor into the rules on recruitment, etc.? I ask because I'm guessing that there is a floor on the age group of games that college coaches can watch/attend and would think that some of the rules on contacting, offering, number of evaluations, etc. are different as players move through classifications.

 

How does this work with someone like Beverly whose playing up an age group or is there any discernible difference?
