I have a lot of respect for Coach Niederman and he was really good to my son but he and Coach Griffith have much different personalities.

 

With that said, the current coaches probably were "tainted" a little. The overall feeling/opinion was that Boone needed a fresh perspective from someone outside of NKY.

 

Finally, some team will be damn lucky to get Coach Niederman on their staff.

 

Agreed, I hope Niederman applies for the Lloyd Job, I think he would do well their.

Since Kyle meets all of those requirements that tells me what I already knew. He was tainted by being part of the Thompson regime.

If any specific information was given out I missed it. My understanding is as soon as possible but much of that hinges on openings in the system that may not run their course until June.

 

They did state they were working on a position for Coach Griff's wife and I assume they are doing the same for an OC.

Words cannot express how happy I am that he is gone from BG. I had high hopes when the Warren Central job came open that maybe, just maybe, he would leave BG and come across the tracks to WC. Congrats to Coach Griff, he will have Boone playing at a high level right away.

Will the new Coach try to retain any of the previous staff? I assume the old d-coordinator and HC candidate will not return. What about Floyd? I read he was coaching elsewhere. Could he be a candidate to return now that a new HC is in place?

As Guru stated in post #7 and was also in Skinner's Enquirer column today, Griffith is retaining 4 assistants. He is looking outside for an offensive co-ordinator. He said in the paper he knows what he wants to do offensively but needs to find the right person to handle it.

 

My big question/comment is how about that commute? In the paper it said Griffith is commuting back and forth between BG and Boone for spring practice. How is he making that work? That is a 3 hour drive one way, isn't it?

They start spring practice this Thursday so I assume he will stay Thursday night and stay again a couple of nights next week so the commute isn't an issue.

 

What we need is for Coach Warner to get it in gear and find Coach Griffith a house!

On Coach Floyd, he was very vocal with his complaints about the old regime at Boone. Couple that with the fact that he has a varsity gig (which is what he wants) at CovCath and I would be surprised to see him come back to Boone.
