Funny, I've never heard of a list before. Explain this list because I have never seen it.

Well they let go of just about everyone over there. Tony Wise, didn't even know he was getting released "fired" until he got the pink slip, same thing with Amanda Henry, Gene Combs and I have heard that this will probably be the last year of coach Dan Gooch. I may have been off on the Happy situation but I thought Phil Rison had a saying in bringing him aboard.

 

I would speculate Rison did have some say as he is the asst superintendent and part of the admin. I have spoken to a parent whose son played for Coach Wise and was very unhappy with his lack of professionalism, cursing players, etc. Has another school snapped him up as head coach? There is always turnover in any organization of hundreds of employees whether a factory, political organization or school.

Personally, don't see the merge. Paris will never merge with Bourbon (unless, as you stated, the state makes them). Curious to see how it plays out. They always seem to have athletes.

 

 

I've always heard there would be a heckuva fight to get those two to merge, so don't see that happening anytime soon. Just wish Maysville would have never merged with Mason County, I know that is ancient history. Would love to see Maysville and Tollesboro back on the scene, oh well.

The next coach at Paris will be just like Mark Starns at Fleming County and most high school coaches nowadays, they will be stepping into a situation with a young core group of talented athletes until they graduate and then they will move onto the next up and coming class in the next county. Nobody wants to Coach up kids anymore, they want the easy road. Heck Calipari couldn't coach up 4 Micky D's All Americans, he's got to have 11, so who blames high school coaches for doing basically the same at a different level. Paris will get a really good Coach and would be shocked for Happy to come back without Prewitt unless recruits are coming in

They actually received 15 applications and will interview 5 of those on Tuesday and Wednesday. Terrence Brooks, assistant from Holmes, assistant from Paris...not sure of the other two.

I keep hearing about some guy named Paul Sturgeon from Walton-verona in the mix of the short list.

 

Anybody know anything about him? Is he the same Paul "The Fish" Sturgeon from 1530 ESPN radio?
