AT41, You may want to change your avatar to Coach Flynn. It looks like he may have the Tomcats ready to play their best ball at the right time.

Im thinking of changing my avatar to the AT41/Ashland Sporting Goods Player of the Week. Its a toss up between Wilcox and Williams...

I give my player of the week to Williams.

Im pretty superstitious, and maybe the Breeden avatar was good luck....who knows...

Dicky and Dirk are still, in my opinion, the best around but they do, at times, give one a reason to root against their team. That is unfortunate. I do hope that Ashland's AD did not have to "regurgitate" the food that he ate at Rose Hill this morning. If you listened to the broadcast, you don't need an explanation of this statement. But, then, this only refers to one of several radio shots at Rose Hill. These guys can be fine broadcasters. However, the snipes really need to stop.

Holy cow! Ashland finally lived up to their potential tonight. Ashland shot 56% from the field and were 6/12 from 3. Wilcox had a great game with 18, McDavid had 20, and Brandon Williams had 15 and 11 I think, he also hit 4 three's. I think Owens finished with 24 on 12/24 shooting, but didnt play most of the 4th quarter. I noticed in the 2nd half during timeouts he would just sit on the bench and not join the huddle. Then when Pratt pulled him out with about 6 minutes left in the 4th he sat on the end of the bench with his arms crossed. Its a shame to see such a talented player act like that. I dont know if it was the fact that they were getting blown out or what, but his attitude was not what I expected. It seems like Pratt and the rest of the staff are doing all they can to pacify him. On a side note I believe some Rose Hill staff or fans were caught filming the game and asked to leave, atleast thats what I heard on the radio. All in all a great win for the Tomcats. Im in an avatar delimma....

I have defended Owens all season long and often stated that he is the best player in the region, but he has got to stop doing this sort of stuff. He is killing his college future by showing this type of attitude.

Agreed.

I'm not really suprised by this one. Its a big rivalry and Ashland was over due for a good game.

After tonight, I agree also...

Ashland was well prepared and ready to play....Good game Tomcats.

Good luck to the Lions to rebound from this and get ready for District battle. :thumb:

What I heard about Owens what that Pratt told him to get the ball inside, but he refused to, and continued shooting 3's. Not sure if thats the truth, but I was told thats what Dickie said on the radio.

I heard the same talk from people on the Boyd side. I heard there was a college recruiter in for the game. I believe they said he was from UTEP. Owens was trying to put on a show and not following the game plan. I also heard after Owens was pulled and didn't return the recruiter got mad and left.

Excellent game by the cats tonite. Ashland moved the ball around very well and did not depend on Thomas and McDavid to do everything. Williams, Cannoy and Wilcox all contributed big tonite. They weren't just standing around watching on offense. I think this took alot of pressure off of Thomas and McDavid and they even played better. I hope this continues for the rest of the season.

Not true Owens did not leave, Owens has some growing up to do,

still has not grasped the concept of the game.In do time he will

grow up ,not saying this is a bad thing, but needs to learn to use

the other four thats on the floor. That will make him a better ballplayer.

The college was Umass, Owens talked to them after the game, and told them

he played selfish ball and was sorry. This was the assistant coach and Travis

Fords dad. They want him at Umass.Good job Ashland nice win!

I didn't say that owens left. I stated that the recruiter left. Owens was sitting on the far end of the bench for the final 6 minutes of the game. I hope Owens listens to the UMass coaches. He has a nice future ahead of him.

My bad miss read.No the recruiter did not leave.

Well, I hate to be right I said on the prediction thread that the Cats win by 10. I was called "crazy" and my lack of basketball knowledge was questioned. I stated on the Huntington High thread almost the exact score. And I was a little off on this margin by 6 pts or so! I was also right on the Russell - Ashland prediction ( on a side note)! Anyway I am happy for Drew and the boys on a much needed win and I hope they continue to roll on into the Regional Tourney!!!!! AT41 I absolutely think that the avatar is hilliarious, Wayne Breeden was a great Tomcat coach who heated up the Boyd rivalry to make it in my opinion the best in the state of KY. But it has to go the mid 90's are over as much as I absolutely loved them, and give your current coach and boys their due. Which by in large I have to give you credit and say that Ashland is truly lucky to have such a knowledgable and tride and true fan. I love the Ian Holbrook and Drew McDavid is one of my favorite kids give a player their due like you usually due. Be careful not to be disrectful which I don't think you mean to be your intentions are mostly genuine and sincerenin support of your Cats!!
