I trust who told me. Breathitt is a total mess right now with the state stepping in and the situation that happened with their superintendent and the scandal at the elementary school.

 

Derrick Forest reported via twitter about two weeks or so ago that Letcher Central was in the final stages of hiring Holcomb, via LCC's AD. What I mentioned in the reply, I've heard since then.

Holcomb will join LCC on the 1st of April......will turn in resignation later this week.....Chapman hasn't made a commitment yet about going to LCC...probably trying to get more money from PCC.....Moore will be the next Coach at BHS.....

That's pretty much what I was told except for the Chapman situation. I was told that he was going to Letcher with Holcomb to be the DC but everything else you mentioned is pretty much spot on to what I was told.

It's done and final. Holcomb is the new head coach at LCC

 

 

Mike Holcomb, who coached Breathitt County High School for the past 30 years, has been hired as the new head football coach of Letcher County Central High School.

 

The new hire was announced during a press conference held in the LCCHS foyer Wednesday afternoon.

 

Letcher County Public Schools Supt. Anna Craft described Holcomb as “a man of integrity”.

 

Holcomb’s resume includes three state championships, nine undefeated regular seasons and 272 career wins.

 

“Thanks for people having faith in me to turn the keys over to this program,” said Holcomb. “There’s no magic formula to winning…It’s made by hard work, dedication and pride.”

 

Holcomb said the football team may not win every game, but it won’t be because of a lack of desire or preparation.

 

The coaching position became open after Paul Rains resigned Jan. 28 after coaching the Cougars one year.

 

Coach Holcomb becomes the fourth head coach to lead the LCC football program in five years.

With Pike Central's schedule, I don't think he stays.....

The next best rumor is that John Chapman will leave Pike Central and join Holcolmb at LCC as defensive coordinator. Anyone know enough to give that rumor credence?

 

Guess it wasn't a Rumor. He will do well at LCC.

and to beat it all, Breathitt and Letcher play eachother at the end of the year on November 1st....New Contract so they will meet again next year @ Breathitt.
