February 27, 201313 yr Okay BGP. I have an 8 hour layover in Honolulu next Thursday. I arrive in Honolulu at 9:30 and my plane takes off at 5:30. My only plans are to hit a good bar on the beach, I repeat, my only plans are to hit a good bar on the beach. Who is familiar with Honolulu, Hawaii and where should I park my tired butt for some food and beer and beautiful scenery that my employer is so grateful to pay for? :thumb: Hook your boy up with some info. Thanks in advance.
February 27, 201313 yr If you've never been to Pearl Harbor then I would make a trip there. Other than that, there are plenty of beach spots with cold beer.
February 27, 201313 yr I forget the name, but it's a pink hotel on the beach. It's very nice. Quite frankly, any bar on the beach is going to be good. Just go to hotel row and you'll be fine.
February 27, 201313 yr The Harbor Pub is one of my personal favorites, but it is in a marina not on the beach. The Mai Tai Bar at the Royal Hawaiian Hotel. Quite possibly the best Mai Tai on the planet. Dukes Canoe Club at the Outrigger Waikiki Hotel. Known for strong drinks.

February 27, 201313 yr Be ready to pay out the rear for a drink....Brother had his honeymoon there and a "tall boy" was something like $8-9.

February 27, 201313 yr Author Be ready to pay out the rear for a drink....Brother had his honeymoon there and a "tall boy" was something like $8-9. I don't care. Work is paying for it. You must have missed that line in my post.
February 27, 201313 yr I'm not around for a few months and now all of a sudden PP92 is in Japan living the high life.

Can I do that at either of these places?

February 28, 201313 yr I plan on sticking my feet in the water and maybe even lay out a little bit. Can I do that at either of these places? Royal Hawaiian and Outrigger are next door to each other in Waikiki Beach. Walk out and dip your feet my friend. Personally I would choose The Mai Tai Bar over any. Like I said, best Mai Tai on the planet. Go try one. And report back to BGP. I'm still waiting on a review of that Cuban cigar. lol
February 28, 201313 yr PP92 you could be like me and enjoying Chicago it's beautiful this time of year; As I'm sure Detroit will be next week. I usually hate any layover but this should work out well for ya.
