Who guards Romes? That's a toughie for the Crossbacks. One thought would be Steenken however I'm not sure if he has the lateral foot speed to guard him on the perimeter. Another thought would be Laible.

 

Interesting decision for Coach Goetz.

I might try a 3-2 zone to limit Romes' penetration and cover the shooters. Holy Cross will have trouble matching up with him and too much help leaves open looks at the three. Bwood has Miracle, Sawyer and one other shooter that can knock down the open looks.

 

I know this is not HC typical style of D but it may fit against the Tigers.

HC did a pretty good job of take TJ out of the game. If they can come remotley close to doing the same with Romes, Beechwood doesn't have a second player like CCH has in Timmy T.

It's at Beechwood correct? I'll still take HC because Bwood is soft outside of MR so HC wins by 10 and takes the 3 seed in the 35th.

If I were at HC i'd take my chances on the rest of Beechwood beating me and try and just Romes out.

:thumb: It is rather unfortunate that the Beechwood fans and their student body don't support their basketball program. I suppose all the football championships have spoiled them and the Class A Tourney just isn't worthy of their presence at basketball games. It's too bad because you guys have a very good team this year. You should enjoy it while it last.

I agree in part,but it has gotten better recently. The Holmes game last friday night was a nice crowd. Tonight will be a good test for the fans to see if they come out to support their team as they should. You can't change the culture overnight.It will take winning and time.

I think Steenken or Busse can guard Romes. How's the Beechies' perimeter "D", because HC can light it up from outside when they're on!! I'd think HC has more "big game experience" than Beechwood also. Should be a good game, and I'll take HC in a nailbiter!!
