Bond, James Bond

I've never watched a Bond movie

I'll sum them up for you: I'm James Bond, you're a gentleman named Blofeld. You keep trying to eliminate me but I always find a way to foil your evil plans.

...with a handful of explosions, a car chase or two, some awesome spy gadgets, and at least one smokin' hot woman thrown in there as well. Not to mention the occasional secret lair.

You left out an important part....Bond girls. I love the Bond movies even when they are ridiculous.

Maybe for another thread, but my favorite all-time Bond girl is Carole Boquet.

This is a good point.

From now on I will involve a harem of beautiful women to assist me in avoiding the various forms of mayhem and destruction Randy Parker has put together to try and wipe this smug, self-satisfied grin off my face once and for all.

I have really liked the Daniel Craig Bond. He is more as I would envision an over the top MI-6.

Sam Mendes officially turned down the offer to direct James Bond movie #24, and the Bond producers have reportedly now approached Christopher Nolan. This comes following a 2010 BBC interview where Nolan responded in the positive to inquiring reporters, questioning whether or not he'd ever be interested to direct a Bond movie. He was also interviewed in 2012 by Empire Online and said, again, that he would be interested, but that "It would have to be the right situation and the right time in their cycle of things."

Confirmed: ?Skyfall? Director Sam Mendes In for Bond 24 and Likely 25 | Showbiz411

Sam Mendes is the definite director of Bond 24 and most likely Bond 25. He’s in, after exhaustive negotiations. Mendes obviously got what he wanted and will be a rich, rich man when his time with James Bond is over. The director of “American Beauty” did want to keep his theater career alive and will, even with the long planning for the Bond movies. But “Skyfall” was too much of a hit to let him go, and really no one else compared to him. Mendes and Daniel Craig will see “Bond” through to the end.

Study Shows James Bond Was A Raging Alcoholic

"According to a recent study published in the British Journal of Medicine, James Bond drank martinis at an alarming rate. Liver specialists at Nottingham University spent a year studying Ian Fleming’s James Bond books to determine exactly how much the international super spy drank.

The research reveals that over the course of 14 novels, Bond drank an average of 45 drinks a week, roughly six to seven martinis a day.

Let that settle in. Seven martinis a day."

Liquid courage. No way he would find his way into that much danger sober. Common sense eventually would kick in.

The charecter that Timothy Dalton played almost ended it for me. I have always been a big fan, but the Dalton years were bad. Since Sean and Roger stepped away, the most enjoyable Bond for me has been Craig.

^ Brosnan should have been a better Bond, but the scripts those movies got stuck with when he was in the role were TERRIBLE. Thank goodness the Bourne series came around to show everyone what a spy thriller is supposed to look like; they forced the Bond franchise into the Daniel Craig renaissance. Even still, the rebirth wasn't complete. As good as Casino Royale was, Quantum of Solace was equally disappointing.

In any case, I'm a big fan of the franchise and I'll be ready and raring for this one next November.

Agree 100%!!!

I've seen every Bond film at least 3 times, including the tough to swallow "SkyFall" and the aforementioned "Quantum of Solace", and I'll eagerly be awaiting the next in the series.

I love Bond Week in December and I can load up the DVR with Bond Movies....my family does not love that week as I prune all of their old shows from the main DVR. :sssh:
