53rd district championship.

Closer than I thought it would be.

Knott lead by 18 at one point.

The game was tied with 1 minute to go in the 4th and Cordia had the ball. For some reason they chose to shoot it instead if going for the last shot. Bad strategy imo.

Several bad choices by Cordia in this ones. Also Owootoah had 24 points and 24 shots.

Two firsts for me:

1. Two fans rode 4-wheelers to the game

2. A Cordia girls goes into KCC student section and ends up throwing punches. A guy knocks her the ground like a rag doll. She retreats and no one does anything. Madness

What's your opinion of his game Wireman?

I like his speed, ball handling, passing ability and feel for the game a whole lot. I also like that he is confident and wants the ball in clutch situations. He doesn't shy away in big moments.

I dislike his size (maybe 5'8"), jumping ability (can he dunk?) and I'm not sold on his outside shooting. He seems to struggle with getting shots off against taller players. He was 7-24 tonight and 3-10 from long range.

Not sure about this call:

Sure doesn't appear as if the defensive player gained any advantage by running into the blind screen. Which player fell to the floor? Who remained standing?

I would have thought that a no-call would have been a strong consideration by the official, past that I sure don't see that the defensive player committed a foul.

Worst chant in basketball? I think so..

I learned a long time ago that there's nothing quite like basketball in the mountains.

No doubt...there's also not many atmospheres like you find in the mountains as far as noise and passion for the game. Love watching a good mountain basketball game.

My old college roommate (from Omaha in Knott County) always bragged that the team with the most players standing at the end of the game won.
