February 22, 201313 yr Recommendation. I would not use Safari to browse the web. Get Firefox or Chrome. Though few, what most mac malware that does exist, exploits Safari. It's not the tightest coded browser and has had problems with java exploits in the past. It wouldn't hurt to get a free AVS like iAntivirus. You can never be overly protective. I don't don't keep my copy of iAnitvirus active to monitor live browsing, but I run scans with it once or twice a week.
