Cooper 59 Conner 48

Final from Hebron.

Cooper dominated the game going up 11-0 to start.

I've said it before and I'll say it again it's nice to have size for high school b-ball but the games are won and lost with guards.

Cooper's perimeter was too much for Conner.

Great win for Cooper. A win Fri against Ryle will lock up the #1 seed.

Great to see Will Rueholt #10 for Conner have a good game. When he is on he can shoot the rock anywhere. IT was very nice to see him starting to fit in with his new team, much improved from the beginning of the year.

As Clyde said, Cooper dominated from the opening tip and their Guard play was very good and once again played very well defensively.

When will the 9th Region officials learn what a Euro Step is? Missed another one tonight. It's a legal move and NOT a travel. Nice win for the Jags, Conner must win Friday night at Boone. I think they will.

Probably the best all around game by the Jags this year. Good guard play continued and all three Cooper Bigs played very well. Good luck to Barker n crew vs. Boone.

Going into the game I was a bit worried about the guard play if any of them got into foul trouble because Spencer Holland was out due to illness, but they didn't miss a beat without him coming off the bench to give Morgan, McNeil or Collins a breather.

They really do have a strong top 7 with Hathorn and Holland coming off the bench forr the Jags. Should be a fun team to watch the rest of the way.

Good luck Friday against Boone. I think if you all can shut down Stanley you should be able to take care of business.

I thought Aaron Morgan was really good. Cleared the press easily. Was aggressive going to the basket. Scored and dished.

Thought I saw on twitter that the score at the end of the first was 21-6 Cooper. Is that right?

Sounds right.

Slow starts are a problem for Conner.

Yes, it was. Cooper was up 58-38 before clearing the bench and Conner had a run to end the game. Conner has parts but Cooper's defense was smothering and there was no offensive flow to Conner's play. #45 forced way too many shots and was clearly frustrated. #25 fouled out and probably had a couple extra not called and he looked shocked every time the ref blew the whistle.

Another charge called on Shelton where the defender acted like he was hit with a cannon.

He has really become a very solid PG. He understands his job to get the shooters the ball and he has also improved immensely on his Free Throw shooting. His quickness can't be coached and is a huge asset on the defensive side of the ball.

Cooper started off the game on a 11-0 run. Got up by 20+ pts in the 4th and then put in all the reserves and that is when Conner cut the lead in half.

No one is better in the 9th.

BTW all bigs should watch some of the moves in the post that Shelton showed last night. Really strong.

No one is better in the 9th.

Clyde, you were on the other side and may have had a better view. Did you feel it was a charge?
