Did any of the present assistants at West Jessamine interview? With several established Head Coaches interviewing that might make it tough on them.

Yes, their Defensive coordinator.

I believe that Bo Co was small and young. They are like many schools that are not that successful in that the kids won't go to lift. From what a few of the coaches have said is that they will be small again BUT they see one class (I'm not sure if they are the 8th graders, freshmen, ??) as being the team to get them on the right path again.

That's good to hear that they (Bo. Co.) have a solid class coming up, but as you know one class can't carry a program. There has to be all the extra things (i.e. in scholl weights, asst. coaches) in place to keep or build momentum. Most likely a strong class at Bourbon would be an average class at Franklin, East, West, poor group at Catholic etc. I hope Foley does not make the mistake of taking this job. He will be taking a step down if he goes to Bourbon. Either way i hope the Colonels get a good coach but most importantly i hope they are willing to give that coach all the tools needed to help in this monumental challenge. :thumb:

Foley has not and will not interview at Bourbon he didn't even apply. Have talked with him about this, he is not ready to go "home." He is very happy at Frankfort, West Jessamine can't answer that one, will have to talk and see.

Foley has done a great job at Frankfort. Rumor is bourbon is going to hire Massey.

:thumb: :thumb: You are correct

Rick Massie? He is a graduate of Bo Co; played at UK under Claiborne, played Canadian ball and finished his career with the Broncos. He was an assistant at Paris for a few years and may have helped Bo Co one year. Not sure.

Isn't Massey the middle school coach? I thought I saw on the KHSAA site that they wanted a coach with "high school experience". They must not have much interest shown in this job. I thought that they were going with Foley on this?

Is the teaching job a hold up? Most people that want a program, find a way to make that work, they did before when they got Dudley.

They need to get someone in there before long, the weight season is in full swing and do they have anyone doing that? Also spring practice is right around the corner.

The brought Massie on late to run the offense for Bourbon this last year. Never gave Coach Dalstorm the support he needed. Seems like they winning isnt something they want. I guess the one title they have is enough.

I've heard Massie has the Bo Co job as well.

Does anyone have any news from West Jessamine? What about North Oldham?

What about North Oldham?
Henry County Head coach is the leading candidate there. I'm not sure if he has been named but I'm sure it's a done deal.

Schools with a new coach in 2006 are listed. The new coach is in paranthesis.

Allen County Scottsville

Atherton

Ballard Memorial

Beechwood

Betsy Layne

Bourbon County

Bracken County

Bryan Station (Oliver Lucas)

Butler (Doug Lucas)

Caldwell County (David Barnes)

Daviess County

Fairdale

Green County

Lewis County

Madisonville

Magoffin County

Muhlenberg North

Nelson County

North Oldham

Rowan County

Shawnee

Shelby Valley

West Jessamine

Western (Doug Preston)

Whitley County (Roger Gentry)

For those of you counting at home, that's 25 schools who will have a new head coach in 2006. 51 schools hired a new coach in 2005.
