High school kids don't "declare" or "enter into" the MLB draft. Anyone who has not played professional ball in the past can be drafted in the "first year player draft".. I don't want to get into the details of the MLB draft, because it's complicated, but my point is what i said above; high school players do not have to enter, or declare to be drafted. It just happens if they are drafted, they will be notified.

Ya, I know very little just heard some rumors floating around. I would assume it is early graduation. Also has a possibility of playing at Chipola. I heard this from a source who would like to stay unanimous.

MLB Scouts NEVER gaurentee anything.Tanner is a great player dont see him as a top mlb prospect at this point.I have heard the kid struggels in the classroom and has very little intrest in going to college.Again just what I heard.But to say MLB Souts are promising anything this is hog wash they just dont do that.

It's a matter of symantecs sometimes. My best friend who pitched for NKU in the early 90's had a Pirates scout following him for a couple years. HE went to the Piratees tryout and this scout told him if he could hit in the low to mid 90's they would sign him then and there.

His fastball was clocked at 93 on his 3rd pitch, avg'd 91-92 and his last pitch thrown was 95, he also had a breaking ball that would break 2 feet and a nasty change up. The scout after his tryout asked him to stand by, he had to make a call and would come back with an offer. 10 mins later the scout returned and informed him that the club was only looking for left handed pitchers and they would have to pass on him. He also had tryouts with the Reds but nothing panned out.

 

So to say they don't garuntee anything is symantecs, telling a guy at a tryout that if he pitches in the 90's they will sign him on the spot and then not doing it is pretty crappy. Moral of the story is as you were refering to, don't take anything for granted and don't believe any scout until you sign on the dotted line.
