February 6, 201313 yr Author Once again I just want to thank everyone for their kind words during this difficult time. I thought I would share my Father's Obit with you all so you get an idea of what kind of man he was. February 6, 201313 yr I regret that I missed this post originally. Your posts and the well written obituary paint a picture of a great man, a great dad and a patriot. I salute him for his service and his sacrifices. My prayers are with your family Q, especially your mother. I have not walked the path that you all are walking now, so I cannot say "I know how you feel", however I feel a twinge in my heart and a lump in my throat at this moment just thinking about it. I pray for comfort and peace for all of you in the days to come, may God's blessing be upon you in many forms and may you be surrounded with love.

My mom and I were reading some old letters he sent her and his parents from Vietnam and Fort Collins Colorado when he was getting ready to be shipped off. He was a typical 20 yr old guy just like anybody else. We read letters he sent from the A Shaul Valley when his platoon was hit with mortars and several were wounded. His description of it was something I will never forget. I have so much more respect not just for him but any soldier who puts their life on the line.
