December 24, 201213 yr The Bengals are 1 out of 7 teams in the whole NFL to make the playoffs at least 3 times out of the last 4 years. Pats, Ravens, Packers have made it each of the last 4 years. Bengals, Colts, Saints, and Falcons have made it 3 out of the last 4 I know the Bengals have not got it done in the playoffs yet, and so they still have to take that step. However people complain about the Bengals because they say they dont trust Mike Brown to put a consistent winner out there. However they have shown to now be more consistent that most teams apparently. Its hard to ignore this fact because they are showing to be one of the more consistent playoff teams lately and are doing this with a young team. People are tired of my long post I know this. However I just can't understand why people can't get behind this team. Dont let frustrations with Mike Brown affect there here and now. As fans we want a consistent winner, a team who can make the playoffs where anything can happen after that. We have that team, and its a young team with a bright future. There is really no reason to keep with all the negative stuff usually about them, and its time to believe in them. Who knows how the playoffs will play out, but we have a good team in this city just like we do in baseball. Its time to get behind them too.
December 24, 201213 yr Author I won't feel comfortable as long as Marvin is on the sidelines. He definitely makes things interesting because he is not that good of a game manager. Seems like here in Cincy we have to guys in charge in Marvin, and Dusty who make very questionable decisions in the games. Yet the end results lately have meant playoff chances, which just shows how hard the players must play for both guys to overcome some of the things.
December 24, 201213 yr Author I will say this even though I didn't agree with some of the decisions today. I still like aggressive Marvin much better than old conservative Marvin. Before last year you would never see Marvin take a chance at all. However over the last two years he has taken more chances and we have seen more wins becasue of it. The only time he got conservative was that Dolphins game and ended up possibly costing them a chance to win that game. I think he needs to get a better understanding of the flow of the game and when to take those chances. However I rather have him being aggressive than conservative. All the top teams take the chances, he just needs to do them at better times haha.
December 24, 201213 yr I think the Steelers are beginning their slide into mediocrity that will last for several years or more, and I believe this will open up some more opportunities for the Bengals to win one or two more games per year than they typically have been doing.
December 24, 201213 yr I'll get more excited when they beat good teams. I'm not complaining but they did take advantage of a schedule that wasn't great. Best wins are a disappointing NYG team and an aging Steelers team.
December 24, 201213 yr Author I'll get more excited when they beat good teams. I'm not complaining but they did take advantage of a schedule that wasn't great. Best wins are a disappointing NYG team and an aging Steelers team. Two teams who would still be in the playoffs if they just had beaten the Bengals. Which both teams have shown that they can get into the playoffs not looking great, and then make deep runs. Which might have been the same case for both teams this year, the only difference was that the Bengals are a good team and they couldn't beat them like normal. If they both had beaten the Bengals they both would be in, and people would be saying how they are still good teams and just know how to get it done. People just can't seem to grasp that the Bengals are actually good and is the reason why these teams are now going to be at home.
December 24, 201213 yr I won't feel comfortable as long as Marvin is on the sidelines. I agree, Marvin is the worst coach in the NFL. The Bengals made it to the playoffs, but who did they beat to get there? Just like eveery season under Marvin LEwis he has a losing record against teams with a winning record. This year the Bengals only beat 1 team with a winning record and thatwas the Redskiins who had a rookie QB playing in only his 2nd NFL game. Makiing the playoffs is nice if that is all you expect. Not being embarrassed in the firsst round is another thing all together. I believe we will be playing the Patriots, anyyone want to take a guess who is going to win that game?

Those two teams didn'T beat the Bengals, quit playing the what if games. The Bengals aren't as good as you think they are. They only beat 1 team with a winning record....the redskins. Sorry, but getting embarrassed in the 1st round of the playoffs again isn't anything to get excited about and start claiming the Bengals as a great team.
December 24, 201213 yr Author As mentioned with there are 32 teams in the NFL, yet the Bengals are 1 of only 7 teams to make the playoffs at least 3 times in the last 4 years that is saying something. People want consistency, and a team that is a winner and gets to the playoffs. Well we have it here and people can't even seem to understand that still. Apparently they are doing something right since they have been to the playoffs more than 25 other teams the last 4 years. Now they do still need to take the next step and make a run in the playoffs. It may not happen this year, because they are such a young team. However its a young talented team, with a bright future no matter how they do in the playoffs.

Trying to kick a 56 yard FG in a stadium where the longest ever is 52 yards and giving the steelers the ball at the 50 yard line? Sorry Marvin just showed in that game again why he is the worst HC in the NFL.

How many playoff wins do the Bengals have in that time span? How many do they have in the last 20 years? Making the playoffs isn't a great accomplishyment if you can't win a single game in the post season. Make it to the AFCCG and then I'll be impressed.

Sorry, but getting embarrassed in the 1st round of the playoffs again isn't anything to get excited about and start claiming the Bengals as a great team. Never once did I say they are a great team, but nice try. You are pretty good at that thought from all previous post I read from you in all other threads. It is not a what if game, if those teams beat the Bengals then those teams would be looking at going to the playoffs again plain and simple. So since they can't beat the Bengals that means they are no longer good, that is basically what your saying. The reason why they couldn't beat them is because the Bengals are a good team. 3 out of 4 years in the playoffs show that they are a good team, its not that hard to grasp. Now are they as good as some of the other good teams and great teams they will see in the playoffs? That remains to be seen, and I even admitted that the Pats game will be a tough game for them.
December 24, 201213 yr Author How many playoff wins do the Bengals have in that time span? How many do they have in the last 20 years? Making the playoffs isn't a great accomplishyment if you can't win a single game in the post season. Make it to the AFCCG and then I'll be impressed. Then I suggest you stop being a fan. People during all the losing year talked about how they wish we had an annual playoff team. Well we have that now lately, and yet well no they still suck because they can't win a playoff game. Now even if they do make AFC Championships but lose, then it will be no they still suck and never will be good enough to go all the way. There are probably over 20 something teams who fans would love to have the team the Bengals have now. A good young team who is making playoffs already, and has a bright future. If you can't see that and get excited about that then there is no reason to be a fan. Yes it will be disappointing if they lose in the 1st round again, I definitely want them to be able to make deep runs in the playoffs. However I am happy that I now have a team that I know will be a contender for the playoffs year in and year out and at least give them a chance to make a run in the playoffs. Then with this being such a young team, there is plenty of reason to think that a strong run will happen in the playoffs eventually with these guys. I know we all would love to leap straight to the top of the steps right away, however sometimes you do have to take steps one at a time. Right now we are becoming a consistent playoff team. Now the next step is to not only make it but to make a run for it. However no reason not to be excited right now.

My first sentence evens I didn't agree with some of those decisions. However as I said before you are good at completely making things up on what people say. Basically no where did I say I agreed, and I even talked about how he needs to get better at those things. Nice try though. Only thing I said is I would take aggressive Marvin over the conservative one we seen every year before these last two seasons began.
