December 13, 201213 yr I effort to stay enlightened in regards to the black culture. With that said I must admit I have no clue what a "cornball brother" is. An ESPN commentator asked if RG3 is a cornball brother, commented on his white lady friend, and that he MAY be a Republican. Then to add to the lowbrow-ness of the show Skip Bayless asked something like "what do his braids say to you?" Even Stephan A thought these guys were nuts. I proudly say I've never watched any show that Skip Bayless is part of. I'll add Rob Parker to the list. Video: Rob Parker questions Robert Griffin III "is he a brother or is he a cornball brother?"
December 13, 201213 yr Author Idiot should lose his job, but we all know that won't happen. I don't think he should lose his job because of that term or question. If anything he and others should lose their jobs simply because the show sounds like it's awful.

Rush Limbaugh and Don Imus both did, why should he be any different? For the record, I'm playing Devil's Advocate here. Parker is, and has always been, a bigger moron and tool than Skip.

December 13, 201213 yr I think he should lose his job because he sucks, not sure why anyone watches him.

December 13, 201213 yr From PFT: “My question is, and it’s just a straight, honest question: Is he a brother, or is he a cornball brother,” Parker said. “He’s not really. He’s black, he does his thing, but he’s not really down with the cause. He’s not one of us. He’s kind of black, but he’s not really like the kind of guy you really want to hang out with.” Parker said he wants to know more about Griffin’s personal life before he can accept Griffin as authentically black. “I want to find about him,” Parker said. “I don’t know because I keep hearing these things. We all know he has a white fiancee. Then there was all this talk about he’s a Republican, which there’s no information at all. I’m just trying to dig deeper into why he has an issue. Because we did find out with Tiger Woods, Tiger Woods was like, ‘I’ve got black skin, but don’t call me black.’ So people wondered about Tiger Woods.” Asked by fellow panelist Skip Bayless about the fact that Griffin braids his hair, Parker said that’s an aspect of Griffin that he approves of. “That’s different, because, to me, that’s very urban,” Parker said. “Wearing braids is, you’re a brother. You’re a brother if you’ve got braids.”
December 14, 201213 yr So many things wrong with what was said I can't even start. My question is what would RGIII have to do to be "Authentically Black"?
December 14, 201213 yr I watched the whole interview start to finish. Rob Parker was saying this is what the common people talk about/ask in the barbershop he frequents. On one hand I see Parker's point but on the other hand this is disturbing on so many levels. In other words, I applaud Parker for having the guts to be brutally honest but I hate that we have this kind of division in America. Other than RG3's recent "God stuff" I think he is right on target with his comments and I am definitely a fan.

And there's a faction of whites who aren't thrilled seeing a blue-eyed blonde-haired young lady with a brother. Parker IS saying what some blacks are saying.
