WebGems37 Posted January 18, 2006 Posted January 18, 2006 St. Henry came from behind after being down 12 points near half time to start out 2-0 in district play.
cshs81 Posted January 18, 2006 Posted January 18, 2006 There is no clear-cut favorite in the 33rd. Watch out for Jimmy Hicks' squad.
NKYBOY1487 Posted January 18, 2006 Posted January 18, 2006 I believe St. Henry trailed by 14 in the first half. Michael Story had a game high 17 points. Borkowski added 15 with the majority of these two players scoring in the first half. St Henry cut it to 2 late in the 3rd but then fell behind by 6 or 7 again in the fourth. St. Henry tied it late had the ball with 20tics left but turned it over. #10 for Boone (ryan?) missed a open 3 at the buzzer to keep it tied for OT. St. Henry played good D in OT and finished by hitting most of the ft late. The Crusaders were led by Ben Kolkmeier and Brandon Lenhof who each had 14 a peice. Good win Crusaders!! A win over Ryle clinches a 33rd district bye. Keep working hard Cru and good things will happen.
NKYBOY1487 Posted January 18, 2006 Posted January 18, 2006 How is the 33rd Tourny set up now that there is only 5 teams? Is this correct # 1. Gets BYE and plays winner of 3 and 4 seeds #2. Plays Heritage #3. Plays #4 #4. Plays #3 This can't be right. It would be better to be the #2 seed.
NEERFAN Posted January 18, 2006 Posted January 18, 2006 I would assume that #1 gets the bye #2 plays Heritage #3 plays #4. You don't get Heritage but you get the extra rest.
BGGreen Posted January 18, 2006 Posted January 18, 2006 Good win for the 'Cru!! Never count them out!!
NKYBOY1487 Posted January 18, 2006 Posted January 18, 2006 So #1 would then play #2 in for the semis? Odd!!!
NEERFAN Posted January 18, 2006 Posted January 18, 2006 After thinking about this for a while. Heritage should play #4. The winner would play #1 while #2/#3 match up in the other semi.
NKYBOY1487 Posted January 18, 2006 Posted January 18, 2006 After pondering about this for a night. I came to the same conclusion that Neerfan did. I will check will coach faust or coach hicks and see if they know how the tourny will be set up. Either way, however its set up the top 4 teams (St. Henry, Boone, Ryle, Conner) are very evenly matched this season. #4 is probably just as good as #1??? Right??? Finally, If St. Henry does get the #1 seed they have more than just that going for them. The 33rd District Tourny is held at SHDHS this year.
Just Jim Posted January 18, 2006 Posted January 18, 2006 according to khsaa website on a 5 team seeded district. 4 plays 5 in 1st round. winner plays seed 1 in semifinal. 2 plays 3 on other side of bracket semifinal.
