So I'm curious. Does Timmons play like Fogle? What I mean is this, does he take as many snaps as a RB as he does spread out as a reciever, or does he strictly play as a RB who also is a reciever out of the backfield?

 

Very similar. As I stated earlier I'm surprised Timmons doesn't get more touches. He was used mostly out wide but came out of the backfield as well. One TD was out of the Wildcat. First play of the game for FC he went 50 for a TD out of the backfield.

Wrong. The official told FC that the 1st penalty was on the tackle after the kneel down. The rest you are correct on except it was an Assistant Coach.

 

I'm curious on your take of the penalty at the end of the game when FC was trying to run the clock out and knelt down and got hit.

I wasn't at the game, but following the updates on here I also saw where Conner got an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty in the first half also, what happened there?

 

Why is Conner the only team that always gets into these discussions and why are you always defending them like they never did anything wrong??

 

 

JVDC is correct, I misunderstood the initial explanation. When someone asked after the game I passed on what I thought was correct. After further discussions following the games I found that indeed JVDC is correct.

 

The player who made the tackle said that he did not hear the whistle. The qb, who was taking a knee from the shotgun with two players on either side of him, took a knee really fast and then stood up turned and was running toward their sideline. The player did not see him take a knee and thought he was running out the clock and that is why he tackled him.,

Here's what I would tell Logan Woodside regarding the last play (and possibly the coach).

 

There was no chance for Conner to stop the clock. None. The game was in hand.

 

Therefore, you tell your QB to IMMEDIATELY take a knee and give the ball to the white hat. That way no defender gets close enough to hit you and you eliminate the chance to fumble the ball on some freak occurrence. Again, Conner had no chance to do anything.

 

When you try to run off extra seconds by waiting to take the knee you allow the defender to get a run at you. When you take a knee right before the defender gets to you you're inviting bad things to happen - legal or otherwise. It's not worth the chance.

 

Take a knee immediately and get out.

 

Ignore the above. As I said I didn't see it and was told incorrectly what happened. DoubleDeuce explanation later corrects my understanding.

Glad it was cleared up. We all know how tempers can flair in heated games like that one. I want to give congrats to all the Conner seniors, you all had a great career and you will be missed. Now you all get to join the rest of us who wish sometimes we were back in HS playing again. Good luck in all you all do. I was fortunate enough too watch many of you grow up and play for years. B. Padgett, A. Brake,, C Fogle and many others, playing on the same teams as my son and becoming great friends over the years with your parents and will always remain life long friends.

1. Franklin converts a long 4th for a TD, backbreaker.

 

2. Franklin converts a long 3rd late in the 4th quarter to seal it.

 

3. Conner misplayed a kickoff where their receiving team let the ball fall to the ground behind the second line and Franklin recovered.

 

All key plays at critical junctions in the game. Give Franklin credit. They made huge plays when they needed to make them.

I'm still not sure how the seam route was so open.

Let me give a big "Conner hats off" to the boys. Fun year. I thoroughly enjoyed watching the Cougars battle. Proud of their efforts even in times of poor execution. I liked the way this team played hard for the entire game. It's a credit to them as well as the staff.
