I'm not so sure, it could be said that a team taking a knee against you when you know that they could have scored because your team could not have stopped them could be considered demoralizing. Hence, "adding salt to the wound".

 

But, it could be the contrary as well, adding more points at the end of the game could be said to, "add salt to the wound".

 

So, which was it raiderbird? Miss use of the phrase, or exactly what you meant?

There we have it. Taking a knee = adding salt to the wound, scoring = adding insult to injury.

FYI-Highlands kneeled on the ball inside the 5 Vs. Cov. Cath just a few weeks ago. Not to mention also going into victory formation in a similar situation Vs Pendleton last season.

First of all know what your talking about and you won't be criticized!!! You act like HHS plays their starters and just beats up on teams. The jv plays more in those games than the varsity does..:ohbrother:
