INIT2WINIT
Good win for the Tigers. Both teams played hard last night in Hebron.

Voice of Reason
Solid win for the Tigers. I believe Beechwood is the only undefeated freshman team left now since Ryle lost. I know one of Beechwood's remaining games is against Cov Cath. The other one might be Cooper.

I got you on this one... Folks, he is talking about NKY, the region the Tigers play in and the subject of this thread. Oh Yeah, Almost forgot. Yes, we know that Beechood Frosh could not beat Trinity or Male Frosh. Thank You!

Jack of all Trades
I wouldn't be so sure about that. I would. Do not know about Male, but Beechwood could not beat Trinity. A team that can 2 platoon at the frosh level is going to defeat most if not all of the teams in Kentucky. Have seen Trinity and Beechwood play in person and Trinity would win that game by no less than 2 touchdowns.
thisguy
Beechwood is pretty good. Stringer is a beast. Great speed and really runs hard. I am shocked he is not playing JV (or is he?) Beechwood did pull their starters in the 2nd half, as did Conner in the 4th qtr. Conner qb Padgett is a tough kid. Took some licks and kept going. I will take a guess and say the last freshman to play varsity his freshman season (not counting end of season/playoff time) is Brandon Berger, who is arguably Beechwood's best football player ever and just became the first football player to have his number retired. That was 20 years ago. Beechwood does not play freshmen on varsity. They don't play freshmen on JV. Freshmen play freshman ball at Beechwood. Jack of all Trades
Question is when the season is over at the Frosh level, will any of these kids get meaningful minutes in the Varsity games? I have to believe that Rash would not hesitate to use them if he felt that way. Or will these kids move onto the basketball season and merely dress in the playoff games? Beechwood freshmen all have the option to move up for the playoffs and sometimes they do get varsity minutes. Usually it is on special teams if it is "real" minutes. Dustin Menetrey was the most recent Varsity Starter as a freshman (for the entire season). I think Max may have started a game his freshman year as well (just a few at the most). Last freshman players I remember dressing for varsity games all year was Tom Bankemper and Drew Davis. Don't remember if Cody Elliot did as well. Voice of Reason
Hmmm ... your memory is better than mine guys. Max, I am 99% certain did not come up till the end of the freshman season. If I am wrong, at most he and Gage may have dressed for a game or two before freshman season ended and may have played but not starting. Emperor ... you say those players dressed but did they play varsity? Did they play JV? Did they play the whole freshman season? I honestly don't remember any of those 3 getting varsity playing time as freshmen.

That was the year that the Tigers beat Danville in the state championship. I thought those freshman got rings and the rest that came up after the freshman season did not. It wasn't like the Menetry situation. I think Dustin started as a cornerback his freshman year.

Elliott, Bankemper and Davis were all three listed on the roster for the championship game so they probably did play some and get rings. I believe Zach Larimore dressed and played in the playoffs as a freshman in 2007 and got a ring but he did not dress for varsity before freshman seaosn ended. I know Joe Staten played some in the 2008 playoffs as a freshman but he too did not come up till the end of freshman season if I remember correctly. I can't remember if he received a ring. Bottom line on the discussion, a freshman from this year's team may get some playing time once their season is over but it's not likely till then.
