I was talking to Coach Stamm lastnight and he said he has seen his 6th grade team play and is very excited to coach them in the future. I believe they won their last exhibition by a score of 58 to 1 or something along that line. Coach Stamm couldn't be happier with coaching at Conner.

I was telling a buddy today that if you gave me any of their 4 good PGs I could take the rest of the bench and compete and come in near the top.

You could divide this team up and compete. They were clearly the more talented team on the court yesterday and that carried them thru the game. Still some work to do as they are in only in the 6th grade. Hope they continue to grow and learn!

And who knows, they might get divided up when it comes to high school. Cooper has girls at Boone County and Ryle that if you go by where they live, should be at Cooper. And they don't have parents that work in the district to get them to go where they want. If you coach or live in Boone County, you know that rules only apply for certain people/situations.

From what I understand most of the girls on the 6th grade team are considered Conner girls. Obviously that could change but hopefully they will all stay together and play for the Lady Cougars when they get to high school.

Highlands! HHS kept 14 and they can all play. Gametime organization had two competitive teams at that age group, one of them 2 time defendimg state champs in KY! The majority of them all go to HHS. This will be their deepest class ever.

 

I be very surprised if it isn't Conner and HHS in the 6th grade finals. Their team and highlands are made up of the two time AAU D1 state champs and runner ups in KY. Many of the Conner and HHS girls will play together this summer in AAU as a combo of the two previous teams. Add a very nice guard from Ryle and They should be loaded!!!

Coach Stamm will lead the Cougars to the top of District 33 this year! He has the players and he is a good coach. They should leave the rest of District 33 in the dust.

 

Conner has the talent to compete for the 33rd District title. I'm still waiting for Coach Stamm to win the big games. Historically, his teams win the games they should win but they can't seem to knock off any of the top tier teams. Maybe this is the year that they "get the monkey off their back".

Conner pretty much dominated the entire scrimmage today with an inferior Carroll Cty team. They erased the score after each quarter but Conner won all 4 quarters by double digits.. Jordan Scott looks ready to step up and have a big year and I also thought the 2 freshmen ( Hendricks and Gambrel) played well. Emily Pluto was steady at the point and Maddie Meyers showed some flashes of good play underneath the basket. There is still a lot of work to be done before the start of the season but I expect the Lady Cougars to be in the thick of things in the 9th Region this season. Go Cougars!

It should be a great game! The battle of Conner's guards that can light it up from outside vs the size and strength of the inside play for HHS. My fear is, typically when you have that match up (especially at this age) the guards tend to win more often! Our really good guard plays freshman, so we miss out a little there. But if our guards can contain their guards a little, it should be a very fun game. Plus we know most of them, so that always gives one or the other bragging rights thoughout the AAU season!

Conners Jordan Scott will sign her Letter of Intent today at 2:45pm to attend Kentucky Wesleyan. Congratulations Jordan and I hope you have an outstanding Senior season. Go Cougars!
