The Professor Posted January 14, 2006 Posted January 14, 2006 Estill wins a district game in Booneville.
*The Prophet Posted January 14, 2006 Posted January 14, 2006 My prediction was off...looks like this game got a little out of control any stats?
sixtyfeetsix Posted January 14, 2006 Posted January 14, 2006 I can't wait until basketball is over. Hopefully none of "my boys" get injured so we can shake up the 14th region in hardball. I don't like to see them lose like they have been. I think they are a bunch of baseball players that happen to play hoops! :sssh:
BadCat Posted January 14, 2006 Posted January 14, 2006 Is base ball going to be something in 56th or what? Still believe basketball Owls can be spoiler in District though.
Hoops Fan 1 Posted January 14, 2006 Posted January 14, 2006 What happened here? I figured the Owls would put up a good game since they were at home and Smith has returned. Anyway, congrats to Estill.
ARC Posted January 14, 2006 Posted January 14, 2006 Did all of the Owls play? Are any of them injured? Did Neeley and Smith play together or did they 'take turns'? In all fairness, Estill has the potential to beat any team in the region on a given night.
UpnDown Posted January 14, 2006 Posted January 14, 2006 What happened here? I figured the Owls would put up a good game since they were at home and Smith has returned. Anyway, congrats to Estill. I think Estill is starting to come together. Their tough early season schedule is seeming to pay dividends. I think people are very loyal to their own and other teams in the 14th and reluctant to recognize newcomer Estill as a top 5 team in the 14th. They have as good a shot as any of the other "top-tier" 14th teams.

Anyway, congrats to Estill. Estill hit threes all night long. Plus Neeley got in foul trouble. He's pretty badly banged up right now, with a injured thumb that is similar to a turf toe injury, and an ankle that was heavly taped that he hurt Wednesday. He also has an injured tail bone from about 2 months ago. Neeley's playing with a lot of pain. But the reason Owsley was beaten tonight was simply Estill was the better team.

Smith scored 15, but was also defended well. Owsley just doesn't have enough Firepower IMO.

TaylorMadeBoy Posted January 14, 2006 Posted January 14, 2006 Coach Smith has looked very upset the last two games that I saw.
BadCat Posted January 14, 2006 Posted January 14, 2006 Neeley has really had to carry Owsley and it sounds like it may be catching up with him physically. Defenses really concentrated on him before Smith got back and it sounds like it has caused him to be really banged up. He is a better offensive player than six points.
ARC Posted January 14, 2006 Posted January 14, 2006 Was Neeley shooting a low percentage or not getting as many shots as "pre-Smith"? How did Congleton do?
TaylorMadeBoy Posted January 14, 2006 Posted January 14, 2006 I think Congleton has stepped up. He is becoming an all-around good player. What I saw of the game he did pretty good.
RonnieThePopular Posted January 14, 2006 Posted January 14, 2006 From what I saw, there may be some creedence to what some of the Lee fans said about Smith and Neeley "fighting" for leadership of this team. Both wanted the ball and only one could have it. But, my, Estill played together and played VERY well. Nice job boys!
