Not really bigcat44 baseball team is the same as last year just add Robert Smith. Everyone else is back. All use fans just hope they can compete it is going to be hard to our district should be one of the better ones in the region with the big three in it.

They had him double-teamed at Estill most of the night and he still got 38. I still think his injuries are affecting him quite a bit right now.

but the fist game it looked like Estill let Neeley have his _ and not let anyone else beat them. With the return of Smith, the Engineers had to concentrate on stopping Neeley as well. The injuries helped slow Neeley down, but Estill also played him very well.

They did a good job on stopping Smith's penatration, with 2 defenders collasping on him whenever he drove to the basket.

 

As far as the defense on Neeley, no doubt they did okay with that, but he's actually in a shooting slump right now. There are many times that he's getting wide open looks and still not making the shots. Early in the year that was not the case. He might have missed a couple in a row, but then he would hit 3 or 4 straight treys, and pick up points driving to the basket and getting fouled.

 

I think he will work his way out of this eventually.

Estill has as good of inside /outside punch as any team in the 14th. Berryman and Dixon compliment each other so well. Don't be surprised to see the Engineers deep into the tourney or even at Rupp. I know that is a big statement but they can play. The Owls still need some together time.

I agree. They can play. They hit some shots the other night 5 or 6 feet behind the 3 point line. They are a dangerous team.

If they can defeat Powell in Irvine on Jan 20, it will set up a huge game in Beattyville on Feb 3 for the top seed in the district. If Estill defeats Lee by 4 or more at Lee, then they are the # 1 seed in the district, which would put them playing Owsley in the district tournament and Lee playing an ever improving Powell. The way it's going right now I would say it will be a battle to the finish between those two to see who will gain the right to play Owsley in the district.
