What NKY team has surprised the most so far as we get ready to enter district play this week?

Could be a good surprise or a bad surprise, either way, which team has opened the most eyes in the NKY area?

Has to be Cooper. 5A was Conner's to lose a month ago.

We'll find out who 5A belongs to in the coming weeks..

Cooper has been playing well, they could be the "surprise" team on the up note. I don't think many thought that Boone would open the season 0-5 either.

I'm actually going to say the biggest surprise for me so far is Holy cross, defending State Champions starting off the season 1-4 is a shocker to me. Cooper is a great story but those who have followed Cooper over the short time they've been playing knew going into this season this was their best team so far so the surprise may be for others outside the program. Those inside aren't surprised by their start I don't think.

Boone was a big surprise for me also. Knowing the athletes they had coming back this year I thought their only true weakness might be at the QB position, but with Casey Boston and co. coming back I thought for sure they would have a couple wins by now.

I'm shocked that NCC is having such a bad year to date. I can't remember the last time they've started out 1-3.

Outside of the loss to your Camels, they have shot themselves in the foot too much. If they iron out their mental mistakes, they could end the regular season at 7-3. Lloyd, HC, and Beechwood will obviously be very tough games.

Speaking of surprises, Lloyd is a very pleasant surprise.

When has Boone Co. every relied on a throwing QB?

2009 Season started out 1-5.

2006 Season. 1-4 then 2-5, then won 8 straight (7 on the road, including all five playoff games) capped off with a State Title.

Newport Central Catholic 2006 Kentucky High School Football

I would like to say Lloyd but the game against HC this week will tell the tale! Also Cooper and SK starting out so good.

Come on. Everyone (and I mean EVERYONE) is shocked that SK is 5-0. No one (?) expected that.

While I agree with you that going from 2-9 to 5-0 is stunning, even more stunning is Holy Cross going from state champs in 2a to giving up 50 points a game!

I disagree. We all knew Cooper was going to be strong.

I'll take "Give an example of a rhetorical question for $500, Alex."

When has Boone Co. every relied on a throwing QB?

When they were throwing in the towel.
