September 12, 201214 yr Rats leaving the ship. In the last 10 years... LOST: BC, Cuse, Pitt, Miami, WVU, VT, ND, ADDED: UC, DePaul, UofL, Marquette, USF, Houston, SMU, UCF, Memphis, BSU, SDSU, Navy. Lost AND Added (lol again): Loyola, Temple They keep losing name teams and replacing them with nobodies from non BCS conferences. UC and UL combined to win the league how many times since joining? Pitt, Cuse, BC and Miami are nobodies right now while UC, UL and even USF are a stronger product. Boise is better than anyone leaving in football. Temple and Memphis St bring a ton to hoops league. Only the small minded feeding of the teat of ESPNs slander job buy what you are selling...
September 12, 201214 yr The five guaranteed football games against ACC opponents is a big part of the story and it's definitely enough to warrant inclusion here. Then the thread title needs to be changed because it is misleading for here. So I guess Boston College and Wake Forest will stay on the schedule..
September 12, 201214 yr So you are saying ND has massive TV ratings in hoops??? Still a drop off with nothing replacing it.
September 12, 201214 yr Still a drop off with nothing replacing it. Hoops is roughly 20% of a TV deal. ND was 1 of 16 teams. Do the math. Will have little to no impact on league...

UofL was the only great add. UC is solid. The rest are nothing. And Cuse is a nobody right now? Did you miss them spending most of last season ranked #1, and being the #1 overall seed? You're showing your bias.

September 12, 201214 yr You mistakenly believe basketball matters in any of this. It doesn't... In that case, UofL and UC are bad adds too. Boise would have been good 5 years ago.
September 12, 201214 yr In that case, UofL and UC are bad adds too. Boise would have been good 5 years ago. UC has won the league 3 of the last 4 years. September 13, 201214 yr UC has won the league 3 of the last 4 years. They have been a better football program than ND, Pitt, Cuse and on par with WVU over the last 5 years. You are showing you have no clue about the topic at hand. Standard... Not a shot at UC, but come on man.. Better than Pitt, Cuse, yes. Better than West Virginia? Absolutely not. If Notre Dame played football in the Big East they would win most years. Does this move hurt football? No. Does it hurt the league in general? Yes. This just opens the door for Uconn to go next. As far as Basketball is concerned, losing ND, Syracuse, Pitt, WVU, this conference is beginning to fall to 6th out of the big 6 conferences when they were hands down the best two years ago.

Over the last 5 years UC had just as much success in the BEast as WVU. Fact. 6th best hoops league?
September 13, 201214 yr This does hurt the Little East more than some think. It hurts their national image more than anything. If you don't have a league bias you see another school jumping ship.
September 13, 201214 yr Over the last 5 years UC had just as much success in the BEast as WVU. Fact. 6th best hoops league?   Who has more bowl wins WVU or Cincinnati? Who is consistenting ranked in the top 20 more often? 6th? Not yet but its on that path. Louisville, Cincinnat, Marquette, Georgetown, South Florida, Connecticut made the tourney last year. Will USF continue that success? UConn is losing their hall a fame coach, not eligible for post season play this year, and most likely the next team to leave. Pitt, Cuse, WVU, ND, gone. Four teams that make the NCAA tourney every year. Still best hoops conference? Still top 3? That's laughable.

Not happening. You seem to conveniently forget both Memphis and Temple are on their way in. While there isn't a replacement for losing Cuse, those two programs are on par with Pitt, WVU and ND. So the conference is down one power and one top 40 type. Still a top 3 league. Easily. Only the ACC and Big 10 are in same class...
December 13, 201213 yr ND would probably love to be in that Catholic league that's forming that has no teams that play football.
