Who will win this battle of the top? Will Mayfield prove size doesn't matter? Or will Graves County prove the big boys have the advantage?

Graves usually plays Mayfield tough and I think they will this game also. Graves has a huge line and a good QB and good receivers. The big question is can they stop Jackson? I say the answer will be no and I'm picking Mayfield by 2+ scores.

Toughest game left on Mayfield sked until late November. BGP has taken notice of the Eagles this year, ranking them in the class 5A top 10. After the Tilghman win they may even move up a notch or 2. The fact that Mayfield didn't win by blowout fashion last year shocked a few on the other side of the state. Anyone who knew how tough Graves played everyone last year, and add the fact that this is a rivalry game... it didn't surprise anyone down here in WKY. Graves' spread offense and a mobile QB, combined with a Mayfield secondary still working out the kinks, should find a few more points than the 7 they put up last year in this game. Problem for Graves is, Mayfield has scored no fewer than 28, and that came against Warren Central. Graves is no Warren Central. 38-21 MAYFIELD.

Up front Graves is better, Mayfield offsets alot of that with stellar linebacking core but so far Mayfield's secondary has proven to be their weak spot and Graves has Starkey who we simply have no one near his size to cover with. Puckett is pretty darn good and Katzman is a proven top notch back. Add to all that a rival game that Graves seems to always be up for as if it was their state title game and you have the makings for a thriller. No doubt Graves should beable to score some with their weapons. On the flip side Mayfield's offense is able to hurt you with the run and the pass and there are a number of recievers that can catch the ball and I think Mayfield is a little quicker though again Graves defensive line is likely at little betterbut the Cards ability to hurt you at anytime on the ground or in the air is going to net the Cards points. Mayfield has been somewhat turnover prone so far this year in each of their games and that needs to change. Overall, I think the Cards will give up a couple scores but I think the Cards offense is good for 28 to 35 points and that should be enough for a Cards win by a couple of scores.
