Since we have played about 15 games per team into the season, I'm sure that many people's opinions have changed on players. In this thread, please make ratings based of PERFORMANCE, not potential or talent. (stats are as of 1/5/06) Here is mine....

 

1. Duran Jefferson-Holmes- assists, steals, and he runs the top team in the region

2. Kyle Howard-Scott- simply put, hes a beast. 17 ppg and 12 rbs!

3. Jeff Vories-Highlands- over 19 ppg, consistently puts up good numbers.

4. Todd Jacobs-CovCath- 17 ppg with some monster performances, unstoppable on some nights.

5. Michael Romes-Beechwood- taking Beechwood to a new level and the regions leading scorer

6. Pat Elliot-Pendleton Co- top scorer and rebounder for a top 10 team in the state

7. Arrez Henderson-Holmes- shooting 64% from the field with 16 ppg

8. Brett White-Campbell County- just under 20 ppg and leading the highest scoring offense in NKY

9. Zach Kiernan-NCC- 17.6 ppg and still getting back in the flow of things from football

10. Dan Penick-Ludlow- has been criticized but has 15 ppg and leading rebounder at over 13 per game

 

Of course some obvious names aren't on the list- Greg Rice, Tim Tierney, Sam Lawson. But in terms of overall production, IMO these 10 are at the top right now.

Howard doesn't belong in front of Vories, Jacobs, or Romes in my opinion. He'd by my #5 on that list.

I could see it that way. I just figured to put him #2 because he is the only dominant big guy in the area, and also above Jacobs and Romes for his consistency.

I'll agree with the consistency but in Jacobs case, there's plenty of other scorers (though not as prolific) to get the job done when he may have an off night. Are there any other scoring threats at Scott?

I am not sure exactly where but I believe Mike Hester would have to be in the top 10.

Mike Hester should be up there, and for Scott Sharp is another scorer they have, not a top 10 player though. Howard is right were he belongs because he recieves double teams against everyone he plays and does nothing but put up double doubles every night.

Yes, Sharp & McCord are the other double figure scorers for Scott.

Rice and Hester would both be in my top 10.

Although he is arguably the most dangerous player in the region, his numbers haven't been incredibly high, whether its due to injuries or any other circumstances I don't know.

Judging by the past few games those other threats haven't been doing too great of a job.
