Banned Greek triple jumper

Voula Papachristou was left in Athens by the Hellenic Olympic Committee after sending a tweet that read, "with so many Africans in Greece at least the West Nile mosquitos will eat homemade food." Her comment generated a minor uproar in Greece, then became an international story when Greek officials decided to kick her off the Olympic team

I'm inappropriate but I thought that comment was a little clever.

Good looking gal.

Stupid, racist comment, but no she should not have been banned.

And I agree with MJ, good looking broad...:D

Stupid comment but should be allowed participate.

Definitely better looking that the Playboy girl.

Yes she is.

Can't see on the forum runner app. Who was the yes vote and care to explain further?

I'm just sad I won't get to see her in the games, but it was a pretty dumb this to say. However I feel like it's worse in american society due to our nations history of being condecending towards people of African descent thoughout our history, not sure it's as bad in other countries that haven't had the same notable history. I guess perhaps it's more to do with the fact that the region has historically been exploited and colonized for hundreds of years?

Shouldn't have been banned, lots of people have said worse and still got to do stuff or not get fired

How many of those people were supposed to represent their country as ambassadors?

It was dumb to say on twitter. Much like the Playboy tweet her timing is putrid. People just have to be smarter about what they say in social networks. I don't think she should be banned from the Olympics but she had to be smarter, she wasn't and is paying the price. Maybe now she'll do a spread in Playboy. That's usually how these things turn out.

We have a a lot of them in our current administration making false statements and they are not fired. Look at slick Willie Clinton, and what he did as a representative and he never got fired, what he did concernd me more than what some girl tweets

Please explain how that is racist. The West Nile is in Africa is it not? Seems overly sensitive to me. I wouldn't have said it, but people say a lot worse. I am getting really tired of this sensitivity working only one direction.
