Gun Control

Featured Replies

I own multiple guns. Not sure what the issue is with that...

Well I hope you never have kids, cause clearly it's a negligent discharge waiting to happen.

I would love for someone to explain to me how it's safer to have a gun in the house vs not. Especially in the "always loaded" scenario I'm talking about...

I don't have kids and even I don't keep my gun always loaded. Very simple to store the gun and ammo is separate locations. By the time a kid is old enough to understand how to load a gun I will have taught them about gun safety and to NEVER EVER touch or play with the gun without an adult plus it will be hidden and likely locked up at that point. I don't have kids yet so I'm not 100% sure how I will do that.

How many kids are year are killed on accident in their home with a parents gun?

My guns are at my grandparents house locked away in a safe with no ammo even there. I'd like to hear this one...

No idea. How many kids are killed in an accidental shooting in a home with no gun present?

You said you owned guns. I was just going with your school of thought....you know making far fetched assumptions and putting ignorant words and statements in other people's mouths.

I don't know what you do for a living, but I think you'd make an excellent defense attorney.

You are the one that said it wasn't safe. I really have no idea I was curious.

I haven't made one assumption or put any words in people's mouths. Just asking questions.

Why thank you. Generally very highly intelligent individuals!

The answer to mine is none.

I wasn't responding to that question. How many people each year scare off would be robbers with guns possibly preventing death or injury. It clear where you stand on this issue and that's fine. I am glad we both have rights to make a choice. I feel much better with a gun by my side at night that's all.

Is it just me or is it pointing out the obvious to say an accidental shooting is more likely to happen in a house with guns than a house without guns?

That's like saying someone is more likely to eat in a house that has food in the fridge than a house with no food.

It's stupid and redundant. Doesn't take an intellectual person to make that correlation.

Here's my intelligent study for the day. A person who rides in a car is more likely to be in an automobile accident than someone who never gets in a car.

Less than do with dogs.

I thought you would go with baseball bat. Touche.

You've already been called out on putting words in peoples mouths in this very thread by more than one person besides myself. You try and bully your way in controversial issues and don't make any real point other than pointing out the obvious which doesn't require any thought at all.

Honestly, watching this thread has been entertaining to say the least.

I wouldn't call all defense attorneys "intellectual". Some yes, but a lot are bottom feeders...

That's kind of an apples and pianos comparison there with the food. But good try -- it's fun to watch.

You need your automoblie for transportation which is crucial to most people's livelihood's in the US. I would say the benefits outweigh the risk there. But with a loaded weapon that could fall into the hands of a child, why risk it? Is it for a sense of security? Because you can?

FKY you're usually a good and reasonable poster, but your posts on this seem oriented to antagonize.

Of course if there is a gun in a home there is at least some minuscule chance for a gun accident and in a home with no gun there is no chance for a gun accident.

That is no reason not to own a gun as a responsible gun owner. And it is definitely not a reason to give up my second amendment rights.

Most gun accidents happen because the gun owner is not responsible. There are lots of ways to own a gun and still ensure that they cannot be accidentally discharged by anyone.
