Pendleton Co. 60 Brossart 44

Featured Replies

IMO, once PC came back to tie it up at the end of 3, all but one of the Mustangs seemed to pack it in.....Never seem a BBHS team quit, but it sure seemed like this one did tonight.

Congrats to PC on the nice win!

Hopefully the rematch will bring about different results!

I wouldn't say they quit... Just didn't finish.

Keep in mind that Pendleton now has a 4 game win streak over Brossart. A lot of the credit goes to the coaching staff at PC: Buddy Biggs, Chad Simms, Brad Cox, Jon Witrth, and Michael Miller.

The PCo staff does a great job with their Cats as does the Mustangs staff with our guys. Buddy Biggs has been a godsend to the program in Falmouth and should maybe consider a cushy political position while his popularity is at epic proportions.

We are all too aware that PCo holds the 4-0 string over our Mustangs after years of domination by the guys in green and will continue to try to reverse the trend each and every time we play. I'm sure the Stangs aren't the only team that the Cats have that distinction and am honored that we would be considered a benchmark in the Cats recent history of success.

There is a reason for their recent success with the Brossart program - THEY ARE A @#$% FINE BASKETBALL TEAM. Off the top of my head no one else currently holds that distinction, with perhaps Mason County being the exception - I'll have to check.

PCo graduates six seniors this spring which could seriously alter the success senerio in Falmouth.

Enjoy it while you've got it - Fame is fleeting!

Never seen a BBHS team quit, but it sure seemed like this one did tonight.

Quit is a bitter pill to swallow. I would prefer that you would have used the word OVERWHELMED.

Up 25-11 with everything going our way, and then to fall behind 29-25 before we scored again, then battling to a 38-38 tie after three quarters with everyone anticipating a photo finish to see who goes to the finals when Jon Elrod explodes for 16 points out of the gate in the 4th sending us home to prepare for round two was rather "overwhelming."

I even used the phrase "The Onslaught Continues" during our broadcast but never accused our guys of quiting. Becoming tentative maybe, but not quitting. Brad Seiter didn't hurt his leg late in the game by quitting.

I think it happened so fast - Down 40-38, 43-38, 46-38, 50-38 and then 52-38 was really quite overwhelming.

I rode the bus back tonight in TOTAL silence and I saw the looks on our guys' faces as they got off of the bus tonight back in Alexandria and it was the look of a team in shock that was overwhelmed. They will remember and hopefully be prepared for PCo's potenial when they visit the SyDome in February for round two.

Actually coming up on January 19th.

It seems like Brossart quit in the 4th if it was tied after 3. If thats the case the will not beat Scott @ Scott because i have never seen a team that is as determined and never quit as much as Scott this year.

I'm not making a prediction but have you seen Brossart play or are you just assuming this from the final score against a very talented team?

I didn't get a chance to see this game, but I'm going to guess that anyone who thinks Brossart quit is dead wrong. They may have been a bit stunned and made a few mistakes, but I can't imagine they quit. They'll keep learning and try again in a couple of weeks.

I WAS at the game and Bishop Brossart by no means packed in or quit as someone suggested. Jon Elrod got hot in the 4th qtr and pretty much took control of the game and helped PC pull away for the victory.

Brossart did not quit, but I think they did get a little shell shocked when PC put a huge run together. They had no answer for Elrod in the 4th.

I agree, Elrod came up very big...

BB looked a little tired, but they never quit. They where mainly out maned, and had no answer for Elrod or Elliot.

You are correct, there was no one quitting. They just got beat and beat bad. The funny part of the game was at different points when both student sections started chanting "Campbell County is better" Just so both school know, we are better and will be around in March to show both!!

Campbell is a great shooting team, and a very good team all around, but I think that PC was a little rusty with their almost 2 week layoff before the game. Don't expect the Jan 13th game to be as close.

It was Mason, not Campbell...
